Oooh, two journals in a day! I'm getting dangerous again! ;)
OK, I've already decided on species for the St. Patrick's Day and Easter/Spring Equinox Writing Challenge entries (respectively, Fox and Bilby, so you guys now have fair warning in advance of the actual challenge keywords, which I'll post when the time comes... Why Bilby? You'll have to find out.....later. ;) ), but I felt there was too long of a break between #3 (Valentine's Day) and the Challenge for St. Patrick's Day, so.... How 'bout one for Mardi Gras (or, if you're in other parts of the world, Carnival)?
Well, nothing says Louisiana like swamps and alligators, so...
The species (and keyword #1) is.....
Nothing says an implacable show-off like an otter, and what's a Mardi Gras (or Carnival) without show-offs, yes? ;)
Since the theme is Mardi Gras, it's not important to make it a keyword, so what'll be the rest?
Well... To list 'em out, here they are:
OTTER BEADS JAZZ
So, let's get the party started and have some fun! :) As usual, can be clean or REALLY naughty, as long as it's imaginative-- I'm never expecting the obvious, so surprise me! Just remember, have some fun with this! :) Note that these are keywords, and not a phrase, like some other prompts & challenges, and can be thematic, if one chooses. These may be short enough to fit on a flea's back or long enough to dwarf the Lord of the Rings trilogy... :)
Oh, and if you're new to the Writing Challenge, or haven't been keeping up, the previous three Challenges are still open-- There is no deadline on any of these, but I would like a heads-up to know if there's interest. You don't need to go into any details as to what you're writing, except maybe letting me know which Challenge(s) you're working on, if it'll be taking a while. The more I know there's interest, the more likely I can continue this project.
Below is a list of past and current Challenges, with links to all submissions for each.
