Writing Challenge #10: Patrimonial Bliss?

What's this? I'm early? On time? Must truly be the end of the world! :)

Anyhoo, we're a week up from Father's Day (in the US), and unlike most of you, I don't have a father, so... I could've skipped this, but what the hey. :) Nevertheless, it's time to honour dads everywhere (particularly the ones one could be proud of), so... :)

Unlike most of my Writing Challenges, I'm not offering a species for this one, but I do have something else in mind along that route:

Your DAD as a furry! :) This could be your dad as your fursona's species or a species that best suits your dad. :)

The second and third keywords fit well for this Challenge, I think: WEEKEND and PICNIC. :) This could be a BBQ or a camping/fishing trip, or something of that nature, or.... Use your imagination or memory to gill in whatever... Or just fit these three keywords in whatever fiction you can think of, if the family vignette isn't quite your thing. :)

As usual, anything goes- Length, genre, rating-- I don't care! :) Just use the three keywords as you see fit (although try my suggestion, if it isn't an unpleasant one), and surprise me- I don't expect the obvious! :) As with all previous Challenges, there's no expiry date, so you can go back to an earlier one, if the inspiration hits you. :)

I honestly am not sure I could use this as part of Moon Rabbit. It could work as a zany Deidrei adventure, even though she doesn't know her who her father is (nor is she interested in knowing), but I'm thinking maybe something else. What is a good question, though.

Maybe I can, rather. Al-Qamar is a dad-to-be, weekend can be snuck in, and a picnic would make for a good excuse for someone.
