That's also why I said I was not expecting the obvious-- Otherwise, it wouldn't be a challenge! ;)
I was originally was just going to suggest this to you (as you were the one I had in mind to do just that), but realised I had something like 5 writers (at least) out of the 40 who +watch me, so why not take this to all my writing +watchers? ;)
Now, I'm considering broadening this to Inkbunny as a whole, with the same basic rule: I suggest three words (usually objects), with the caveat that I'm not expecting the obvious. ;)
I already have the next one in mind, for the Lunar New Year, so you KNOW one of the keywords will be "bunny"... ;)
I wanna see how this transpires, first, with my "inner circle" (such as it may be)... ;)

Not like I own the copyrights and trademarks to every panty-clad mouse in furry, nor do I want to, or to presume all such = Amy. :) To me here, your mouse in this story is just another cute female mouse in panties, who happens to be either lesbian or bi-- None of that says she has to be Amy. :)
I do plan on having "mouse" as a future Challenge keyword, though- When, I haven't decided... Most of these will be on whims. :)
The squirrel, however, was a truly brilliant character to develop! He definitely appreciated in what he saw in the mouse, and appreciated all the more her panties! :D
It would be nice if more than you & Vixyy wrote for my challenge, but I'm happy with both responses, so far. :)

No, she doesn't have to be Amy, but feel free to add getting dressed to music to her personality if you like. Or don't if you don't like. Yeah, he's a naughty squirrel. That's the advantage of being a wild animal, you can get away with being naughty, nobody expects you to care about social conventions.

I would like to see you write some further misadventures with the mouse and squirrel, completely unrelated to my writing challenge. :) My impression was the squirrel was alot more intelligent than "just a wild animal", and actually appreciated the mouse girl and her femininity, so I'm sure you can think of further mischief between the two. :) And yes, Amy does dance like that to music- Usually rock & roll oldies, even though she favours prog rock. ;)
So.... Got any ideas germinating in your ever-fertile imagination? ;)

Well there you go then, my mouse was dancing to Shakira. ;P Anyway, I think we underestimate the sentience of other RL animals. I'll think about it more stories.
Right now I'm trying to finish a story for the Furnal Equinox conbook. The deadline is next Sunday so I need to concentrate on that. (The editor and I haven't even worked out how he can mark it up yet; he's using Adobe Acrobat under W7 and I'm using Open Office under Linux.)

Oh, believe me, I know-- I've seen real intelligence in other animals, even the mice I kept as pets, and their ability to use them. :) Humans are by far not the only sentient species on this planet, and the more we begin to realise and accept this, the more we'll be able to deal with other worlds and their inhabitants.
Acrobat's a good typesetting tool-- The creation and preservation of page layout is its best strength. Open Office is a good replacement for MS Word, and it's free-- I have it on my Mac as well. The most universal text formats are, respectively, plain text, HTML, RTF and Word 97/2000 (.doc)-- Almost every editor supports all of these, today. I use RTF, but that, of course, is the default rich text format on my Mac (OSX 10.4.11). :)

Oh yes, I remember now that you're still using Tiger. It's a perfectly good, stable, efficient OS, very usable. It's not as pretty as Snow Leopard, but it runs on your hardware and IIRC even Leopard wouldn't. As for animals, they either keep you humble or nothing will. ;)

As long as it's writing, I don't mind if there are illustrations with it, as long as it's in a format Inkbunny supports. (ie: Documents can be .txt, .doc or .rtf, but not .htm(l) or .pdf. :( I had a .pdf of one of my poems, but couldn't upload it, because of that restriction. :( At least .doc and .rtf support text with embedded graphics. Inkbunny doesn't autodisply .rtf files, though.)
If you got an idea, go for it. :)
And no, the keywords aren't surprising, which is why I said I don't expect the obvious. :)

Truth be told, I wasn't thinking of a single pin-up picture or a one-page gag comic. I recently ran across a website that hosts a lot of older Disney comics, both from comic books and newspapers (works by Barks, Rosa, Taliaferro, Gottfredson, etc.), and was thinking of something along the line of a short Barks comic, although with my own characters and locale.

Well, I finally managed to finish my submission. I did manage to include all the keywords, but I probably failed in making it a short story. They say time flies when you're having fun, but they never mentioned that word count flies when you're having fun writing. ;)

Well, like I said in later Writing Challenges, I'm not concerned about the length of the story or the time it takes to write one (or even being in order of the Challenges themselves!), and that the stories could be short enough to be written on a flea's back, or long enough to make War and Peace look like a wimp. ;) And you had fun with it- That's the whole idea I had in mind! :D I'll be reading it tonight. ;) Thanks, my friend! :)

I did have fun with it, especially playing with the characters. The problem was that I tried a couple of scenarios with squirrels and panties, and the radio as a kind of afterthought. It wasn't until I made the radio the centrepiece that the story took flight.
Hope you'll like it.

You usually write pretty good stories, so I shouldn't be disappointed. :) I'll give my opinion when I'm done reading. Right now, I'm sending it to my iPod for reading. :) Just for being part of the Writing Challenges, I've already given it a +fave. :) If the others strike you in any way, well... You know what to do- Go with it! :D As long as there's interest, I'll keep making Writing Challenges (I need to post a new one, given it's in time for both my mother's 65th birthday on the First and the Fourth is Independence Day here in the US, not to mention it's National Hot Dog Month and National Baked Bean Month *toooot!* as well!), at least until my birthday, and hopefully longer. :)
