That is a good example. FA won't even go that bad though: Furries are pretty niche, so it's hard to see one of the handful of large furry sites shrinking (unless the admins push things too far, but so far they haven't.)

Never heard of furnation.

People still use VCL. It's setup isn't very good, but it still has a community.

A large number of old regulars may have left, but it's still there. :3

furnation was basically furry geocities. that you pay for. xD it was mostly used for artists to host and maintain their own regular site and art galleries.

If I may bud in, VCL brought me into the fandom,
And even though people still use it, it doesnt make it a community hotspot.

as much as i can remember furnation sold out to secondlife and became more focused on ads and such. I just looked on their site and the only have 8,255 images.... I have no clue what their appeal is.

It's not clear how long the hyperdrive jump lasted or how long Jumba was in prison.

Plus, they might be considering him "feral" and fully grown (the Series showed Baby Stitch, which was much smaller). On FA, if a creature is obviously an adult, stated age isn't a requirement.

Humanoid creatures [anthropomorphs, elves, dwarves, etc] are assumed to age the same as humans and so they must be 18.
Non-humanoid [Things like Pokemon or Digimon or animals, something that doesn't have a bunch of human features] creatures merely have to look adult.

Creatures without a known age-scheme are assumed to be fully grown as depicted (again, things like some Pokemon, all Digimon, most animals, and possibly Stitch).

I got those words straight from Dragoneer. :3

Edit: Added clarifications I had in the conversation with him.

I'm aware there are flaws with it, such as creatures that grow slower than humans or faster than humans being forced to conform to a human scale, but that's what they went with.

Ok, the total rules work like this for determining cub porn on FA.

If the character is humanoid, they are assumed to age the same as humans. Humanoid characters with a stated age below 18 must be age-progressed (that is, depicted as adults) in order to be shown in porn on FA.

If the character is not humanoid (in other words feral or otherwise entirely unhuman), it must be depicted in the adult stage of it's life.

If the character is not humanoid and has no shown or canon age scheme, or has physical changes entirely unlinked to maturity (ie Pokemon or Digimon evolve but Pikachu isn't any more or less physically mature than Raichu), it is assumed to be adult except for where it is clearly stated to be a child (Baby pokemon, baby-themed digimon, etc.)

Oh, and the final (and most important rule): If the admin still thinks it looks too young, they can remove it if they want to unless a canon age is stated. That's why they tried to remove Hiccup art, but allowed it after it was proven Hiccup is of age.

I love how you phrase it that way. As if I'm just doing it for the lulz, and it's impossible that some of the people I've clashed with may have been legitimately in the wrong. You don't know a damn thing about me, or my motivations. It's arrogant of you to assume you do.

When people have a problem with me, I try my best to be a reflection. If they can bring their criticism to me civilly and without being patronizing, I do the same for them. You attract a lot of attention, I'm not the sort of person who reads around loads about people in the fandom but even I heard of you. Metric fucktons of arguments and all that. Now sure, even if you happened to be the worst person on Earth, which obviously you aren't, even then you'd have people who were in the wrong when fucking with you. The simple fact is; no, it is not obvious that you are gay. There's nothing in the avatar itself that says so, and nothing on your userpage either. Fair enough. I don't know what posts you've read, but if I've somehow given you that impression, I suppose I can't change it now. All I can say is that, while I play at being arrogant sometimes (Hell, I wrote something called Emperor Reynard once), I honestly want my watchers/friends to feel that what I'm saying is more important than who said it. Some people insist that they're right no matter what they say (Palin, for instance). I never, ever want to be that. If I yell and scream about some idea, it's not "Hey pay attention to me!", it's "Hey, pay attention to this idea!" If I'm antagonistic sometimes, it's because I want people to come right out an disagree with me if they feel like it. Because If I can be proven wrong, I should be.

It was not-broken just a few months ago. And besides, I always thought permanent bans were silly. Long-span bans seem more reasonable, since nothing in life is permanent (except porn and quartzite).

I suspect it's not the coding itself, but rather the coders: There's more than one coder, so they must be creating conflicting code or something.

The reason 10-year suspensions were used, was because of how the permanent ban feature works: It doesn't show the user a ban reason. It never has.

I think Dragoneer's always been kind of a my-way-or-fuck-you jerkass, which is a terrible personality type to have in charge of an art site, but he's been kept in check by community pressure up until the recent payment handling failure. Wow. Just wow. IMHO, I see this ban (yes ban. heard they broke their ban button lol) no different than if they had banned Max Blackrabbit, Blotch, or Shiuk. This plus all the other bans lately, FA is going to go the way of VCL. They care about nobody but themselves and a business (even if non-profit) should always be ran with your customers wants and needs in mind. Oh well, IB is still here and so much better.

Are you sure that you are banned until 2021? Your account says "suspended" rather than banned, and suspensions rarely last very long. They're normally over in a matter of days. The date in the picture you posted does not say 2021. It says 0009.12.04, which doesn't make any logical sense. I can only assume that their timer is screwed up.

It took me a bit to see it, too. It referred to the timer as an amount of time, not a date; the timer reads... 9.12.04 23:38:39. That's nine years, twelve months, four days, twenty three hours, thirty eight minutes, and thirty nine seconds from the time that suspension message was deployed.

I saw that time and the 9 years + 12 months + 4 days didn't make sense to me, as no working timer would display a time offset like that. It would have just said 0010.00.04 instead. For the same reason, a clock is never going to display 10:60:04 (10 hours, 60 minutes, 4 seconds) to refer to 11:00:04. The value wasn't consistent with a time offset, and converting it into a usable value resulted in an unrealistic amount of time.

I looked through the history of my Trouble Tickets on FA, and the tickets all have time stamps at the bottom that appear to be yyyy-mm-dd hh:mm:ss, but the date portions all make no sense. Some have years that are from before I joined FA, and others have years in the future, even though they are tickets that were closed after a short time. I think the date portion of their times is totally screwed up, as they don't make sense either as absolute times, nor as offsets to a future time. One of my tickets says, 0103.12.07 03:14:56. What on earth does that mean? Strangely, all of my tickets have a 12 in what we are assuming is the month field, but most of my actual tickets were filed in the spring and summer months. I guess I could always ask Yak what their date stamp is actually displaying.

wow... they're really turning this into a _war_ against guys who draw cutestuff. It's not only shota now. :p They'll be like what happened to Y! gallery when they first banned furry art. It basically killed it and then when they realized their error and begged them to come back (so they could take away their money since the only ones who donated to the site were furs and the site was about to be in bankrupcy XD) like, 3/4 of the people never came back, and instead the site is now populated by "18" (yeah sure) year old girls who love bishonen ai of girls with penorz (even if those are banned too, but they let it slip XD of course).

One thing Inkbunny DOES allow is linking to other sites that contain content not allowed on Inkbunny. So while FA might ban you for 10 years for posting a censored version of an otherwise-forbidden pic with a link to the full version on Inkbunny, IB will never ban you for doing the same, linking to another site. Starling has said as much, specifically.

FA has been the first place where I discovered the furry fandom back in 2007. I used to love that site and all its artists but with their new regulations and the cub art ban, they have become less than mediocre.
This is what happens when you have it all. Too much power, the most users etc... They fuckrd it up big time and I'm not saying this just because of Lando but other good artists have been banned as well.
I'm sorry for what they did to you Lando and all I can say is that you don't have to worry so much. IB is growing day by day and as many of you stated above, it WILL grow larger than FA in a few years.
Congrats to the admins of this site (IB) for not being idiots like the FA admins are.

Don't worry, I doubt the chipmunks will stand for this atrocity. Not when the three boys and one man's fansquee over them turned the public perception of them from "Annoying Rats" to "Adorable Fuzzballs." I'll hold a meeting with their leader and see what we can do about taking down the FAssist regime.

Help me out here Lando. That 'you've been told repeatedly' blurb. Have you received prior warnings, had submissions taken down? I see this as one of two tings. Someone who just keeps pushing after being told what's not acceptable, or someone deciding to make something sound bigger than it is. And knowing Summercat I don't rule that out, at all, the latter.

Just as established precedent, i had something removed by summercat, who on their own journal said warnings were issued and mostly ignored. (Never got a warning, just got the 'it's been removed, kthxbai' message)

b) submission removed

I got rid of all my watches, so that it won't get filled with a bunch of messages I'll never probably read.
