Pierce serves as one of the two official enforcers of the Bone Eater tribe, operating directly beneath their leader, Karambit. Within the structure of the Ten Top Members, his position is both respected and quietly feared. The enforcers are not merely guards—they are the line between order and chaos, the hands that carry out judgment when laws are broken or tensions rise. Where his senior counterpart is hardened and uncompromising, Pierce is measured, observant, and far more internally conflicted.

Background/History

Backstory: He earned his role young. Not because he was the strongest—though he is formidable—but because he possesses restraint. Pierce understands when to bare teeth and when to lower his weapon. Karambit saw in him something rare: loyalty without cruelty. That distinction has shaped him into an enforcer who commands compliance through presence rather than brutality. His assignment was unlike any he has handled before. Pierce has been tasked with overseeing Dazzle’s transition—guiding her as she moves from being Skewer’s forced harem member into an autonomous individual within the tribe. Officially, his duty is to ensure her safety, her reintegration, and to prevent retaliation or exploitation during her vulnerable shift in status. Unofficially, he has become her shield in a world that has never allowed her to feel safe.

Note: From the beginning, he felt pity for her—but not the condescending kind. It was the quiet, burning kind that lodges in the chest. He saw the way she flinched at certain tones of voice. The way she defaulted to compliance before being asked. The way her eyes searched for permission even when none was required. He saw the damage Skewer left behind, not in bruises, but in conditioning. And that is where his conflict begins.

Note: Pierce finds himself drawn to her resilience. To the moments when her real personality surfaces—soft laughter, hesitant opinions, flashes of curiosity. He admires her attempts to reclaim herself. He feels protective in a way that extends beyond duty. But he is deeply aware of the imbalance in their dynamic. He is an enforcer. A figure of authority. A man assigned to oversee her freedom.

Note: He fears that any affection she shows him could be rooted in survival instinct rather than genuine choice. That her gratitude could blur into attachment simply because he is kind in a world that was not. The last thing Pierce wants is to become another structure she feels dependent on. So he keeps distance where he can.

Note: He speaks gently but avoids lingering touches. He offers support but refuses to make decisions for her unless necessary. When she looks to him for direction, he redirects the choice back to her. He is careful—sometimes painfully so—not to replace one form of control with another. Yet his feelings persist.

Note: He lies awake at night replaying conversations, wondering if he should step back entirely. Wondering if his presence hinders her growth or safeguards it. He is torn between the instinct to protect and the discipline to let her stand on her own. He knows that if anything were to develop between them, it must come only after she has fully found herself—when her choices are unclouded by trauma. Pierce’s greatest strength has always been restraint. Now it is also his burden.

Note: Among the Bone Eaters, he is seen as steady, dependable, and unshakable. Few realize the quiet war he fights within himself. He enforces the tribe’s laws without hesitation—but when it comes to his own heart, he moves with caution bordering on self-denial. If Dazzle ever chooses him, he wants it to be because she is free. And if she doesn’t, he will still stand guard at her side, ensuring she remains that way.
