Background/History

Kris was not born into a position of leadership, nor did she seek one. However, through sheer diligence and an unwavering sense of duty, she became an essential figure within the tribe, often acting as Karambit’s stand-in when the leader was occupied elsewhere. Her task-oriented mindset and rigid sense of fairness made her an efficient—if somewhat exhausting—presence.

Note: Many of her fellow tribesmen found her tireless work ethic overwhelming, as she expected the same level of commitment from others that she gave herself. While they may grumble behind her back, few dared to voice their complaints outright, knowing that to challenge Kris was to risk Karambit’s ire. Despite their frustrations, even her critics couldn’t deny her effectiveness. Under her watch, resources were well-managed, disputes were settled with firm but just decisions, and daily life within the tribe ran with meticulous precision.

Note: Kris rarely indulged in personal feelings or leisure, seeing them as distractions from what needed to be done. While she admired Karambit deeply, she never allowed herself to fall into blind reverence. If she believed Karambit made a mistake, she would address it directly—but only in private. To Kris, loyalty meant honesty, even if it risked her leader’s displeasure.

Note: However, Kris’s dedication came at a cost. Many saw her as unapproachable, more of an enforcer than a companion. She struggled with forming close relationships, fearing that personal ties might compromise her ability to make fair, rational decisions. Beneath her structured exterior, there was a part of her that longed for genuine camaraderie, but she buried it beneath duty, unsure of how to bridge the gap between leadership and friendship.

Note: Even so, there were rare moments when her softer side would surface—typically when no one was looking. She had a habit of lingering near the younger members of the tribe, watching over them in quiet concern. Sometimes, in the rare stillness of the night, she would allow herself to rest, reflecting on the life she had built and wondering if there was space within it for something more than duty.
