Knowing his kind could never hope to stand against them alone, he devised a cruel solution. His men hunted and captured one, forcing a union between the captured beast and a woman from his harem.

Background/History

From this twisted experiment, Break was born. A child never meant to live for himself, only to serve as a tool of war. Raised with purpose but never kindness, he was taught that his existence had but one meaning: to fight, to endure, to break others before he himself was broken. But deep within, beneath the scars of his upbringing, the echoes of a different fate whisper—though whether he will ever hear them through the roar of battle is another story entirely.

Break was never meant to be his own man. Skewer ensured that. Through relentless conditioning, he stripped away every trace of gentleness, replacing it with something cold, ruthless, obedient. Break was a sword forged in suffering, trained to follow commands without hesitation, without question. His mind belonged to his master, his hands to war.

Regime Shift: But when Skewer fell, so too did Break’s purpose. Without orders to follow, he was little more than a blade without a wielder, and the war council deemed him too dangerous to let live. Killing him would be an act of mercy. A fitting end for a weapon with no master.

Yet Yodel saw something else. Where others saw a beast beyond saving, she saw a man buried beneath years of cruelty, a soul shackled by conditioning rather than choice. She pleaded with Karambit to spare him, promising that she could reach him, that he was not beyond redemption.

It was a slow, grueling process, but through Yodel’s patient guidance, Break learned to think for himself. She became the voice that filled the void Skewer left behind, teaching him to make choices rather than simply obey. And yet, the chains of his past were not so easily broken. The conditioning still lingers, an echo of his former self waiting in the depths of his mind.

In time, Yodel became more than his savior. She became his reason. Where once his loyalty belonged to a tyrant, now it rests with her—not as a weapon, but as a man who has chosen where his devotion lies.

Break can store energy in his dewlap, when he roars it creates a soundwave that can momentarily stun his foes, giving him a window to land an often earthshattering blow.
