I decided to let my autism write today's comic. Let's see the consequence...
GENE: "We're floating over the cliffs of Dover. They're formed by chalk, you know?"
TASLI: "Cool, but how'd we end up in a hot air balloon?"
GENE: "Oh! Well, the artist was watching 'The Chipmunk Adventure', so he's drawn us in a balloon. He'll become bored of it soon, and all will return to normal"
MIMI (to Gene): "Wanna 'Get Lucky' while we wait?"
GENE (annoyed): "Knock it off, Mimi!"
TASLI (chuckling): "C'mon, Gene---I'd like to watch!"
MIMI (to Tasli; angry): "And I'd like to watch you try to fly after I throw you out of the basket!"
GENE (pointing up; excited): "Guys, check it out! I found Mubba!"
MUBBA_the_BALLOON (singing):
Wouldn't you like to ride, In my Beautiful Balloon ... The World's a nicer place, In my beautiful balloon We can sing a song, And sail along the silver sky For we can fly!
TASLI: "No need to throw me out, Mimi---I'm just gonna jump!"
Oh my!
Don't worry---no one will let Tasli jump (at the very least, Gene will stop him).
And, yes, the dust-removal feature of my scanner has a habit of eating I's and commas. :p
Pencil...
A WWII-era 'Aerial' by Dixon. American WWII pencils have either cardstock or plastic ferrules, as metals were rationed to the army in those days. The 'Aerial' was made available in different colors. I've also observed 'textured' variations (and featured w=one with my ACO of Eddie Storkowitz).
The 'Aerial' model lasted a long time: beginning sometime around the 1930s (at least!) and lasting until the 1980s or so (per the different variations I've observed).
*doing an Attenborough impression* "And here we see an elderly sample of the rare IceAgeSpecies hamster species reverting back to childhood! As you can plainly see he's too shy to respond to my inquiries!"
*doing an Attenborough impression* "And here we see an elderly sample of the rare IceAgeSpecies hams
*Googles Mirthworms* "Uhm, yes that definitely counts..." Foxy: "Miwwa hawsta wuves kiddie toonz!" (this is repeated a few times with a lot of raspberries and gesticulating in between).
Note: I recently watched the first and second Stuart Little movies and thought they were decent. So no comment from me.
I'm reminded of a balloon flight I once read about of two men in the late 1700s. They set out to see how high someone can fly in a hot air balloon. According to the logbook they kept, they went so high they entered an altitude where it was cold enough for frost to start forming on the balloon, on the basket and on them. And that was during summer. As they went higher, they recorded that the air was thin and it was getting very difficult to breath. They also recorded that it was starting to get brutally cold the higher and higher they went. As they continued going higher, they logged that they noticed each others lips were turning blue as they began to feel faint because of the air being to thin to breath. Before both of them eventually passed out, one of them let enough hot air out of the balloon to start descending back down. As the balloon returned to the surface of the Earth, both men regained consciousness. Both of them survived the ordeal and told others of their high altitude trip in the balloon.
As far as I am aware of, it was the highest man has ever been in that day and time. It might have been as high as the summit of Mt. Everest or higher.

Mimi: Wanna "get lucky" while we wait? Gene: Sure! [several minutes later] Mimo: Come on! I can't believe you won THAT many coin tosses! Gene: Looks like I've got lucky after all! ;)
Alternative storyline: Mimi: Wanna "get lucky" while we wait? Gene: Sure! [several minutes later] M
This was silly and delightful all at the same time. And the fact that they all realize they're part of the artists/writer (YOU)'s imagination is the best part. I totally agree with the others you need to do more of THESE type of stories! :D
Also "Aerial" pencil! haha nice! ;D (So is that a plastic or cardstock ferrule. It LOOKS plastic but looks can and often are deceiving.)

This particular pencil has a cardstock ferrule. If you magnify the image, you can see a diagonal seam on the ferrule ...which makes it resemble a used-up toilet paper tube. ^^ An unflattering description, to be sure, but it works. :3
I'm glad you like. Gene/Tasli have acknowledged 'The Artist' before: https://inkbunny.net/s/2136371
Lol why does Tasli gotta be so mean.....Haha. But at least he has friends that do care about him enough to not let him jump :3 And also, you should let your autistic side out more often! I also have it, and I'm not ashamed of it. Most of the time anyway lol. Sometimes it can get me down. But, I don't let me having autism bring me down

That's certainly very apparent hehe. And that's always good. I don't really talk about my autism. If I don't have to anyway. But I do have it. And like I said, sometimes it can be a sore topic. And it can bring me down at times, only because there are times where I could be like everyone else. But I don't let it affect me as a person 99% of the time
