"It's a beautiful morning I think I'll go outside, For a while And just smile"
Tasli clicks the radio-alarm off---he doesn't want to be awake yet, but it's gonna be a hard school day, so he needs ample time to prepare.
A shower is the first order of business. I know some of my watchers have pined to see Tasli naked, so... you're welcome and enjoy! ;)
...and, no, I dunno how or why the duck is floating (I had to put it somewhere!) :p
Fresh and dressed, Tasli hops to the kitchen whereat a ripe grapefruit awaits him.
TASLI (to the grapefruit): "Ah, we meet at last, my morning sun! Soon thee and thy radiance shall become one with me!"
TASLISMOM (from other room): "Tasli---you're not using a sharp knife, are you?"
TASLI (with razor-sharp knife in hand): "Who? Me? Oh, perish the thought!"
Perhaps I should have saved this comic for Halloween---the concept of Tasli with a knife is kinda scary! XD
Upon slicing the grapefruit, Tasli's eye is met with a blast of stinging juice! D: Being made of the purest sunshine, the grapefruit is among the most moral of produce---don't ever lie to your mom in one's presence! D:
Don't worry, I'm sure Mom will make Tasli well ...and provide a proper chastising.
Last, we see Tasli waiting for the school bus with his friend Gene.
GENE (to Tasli): "What has you so sour?"
Tasli will surely vent to Gene, and Gene will say something funny to lighten the mood. The day is young, yet---there are many joys ahead ...or, at least, bigger things to be unhappy about! :3
As a bonus, here is a genuine Chippy Breakfast of Champions, consisting of an organic grapefruit, a blueberry bagel with chunky peanut butter, and a proper Ethiopian coffee to help it go down! :9
The featured pencil is used for coloring. It produces a very subtle, yellow shade, and its barrel reads, 'Five in the Morning' (which is difficult to read due to the metallic-silver lettering reflecting the light from my scanner).
I used this pencil to color the sky in the first panel, albeit it's almost indistinguishable here, as the paper I color on is a pale yellow to start with. Even so, just imagine it's the color of 5am (because the pencil says it is).
I dunno who made this pencil or where it came from, though it may be from a 'Pencil of the Month' subscription. I found this pencil in a bin of stubs at the scrap store, so your guess is as good as mine. :3
Yes Grapefruit's do NOT tolerate lies and WILL let you know you transgressed! Also GF juice in the eye does inDEED "sting"! :D
There's a PENCIL OF THE MONTH CLUB??! How did I not know this! Also that color looks more like 6:38 in the morning but who am I to argue or disagree with a pencil!! :D
(whisper)draw more comics please!

Also, and I don't think you intended to do this, but "SQUIRT" is a soft drink that was made from Grapefruit. It's quite good IF you can find it now. ;D

BUt that's WHY you want a sharp knife, dull ones need more pressure and increase squirting probability. A good knife should slice through a grapefruit as easily as a cucumber or peach.
Also, honestly Tas, it's Gene who should be unhappy, not you. He'd make the best... sourpuss.

Tasli raised the knife high, light glinting off the sharpened blade before it plunged downward, hitting its target with a dull thud and sinking in a half dozen inches. Without pause he pulled it free and stabbed again, and again! His technique was crude and violent, and before long both his fur and clothing was a mess. Assorted gore lay splattered across him and the furniture. Even the newspaper he'd put down to contain the mess hadn't been enough and what lay upon it stared up at him with a hideous, unmoving grin that would chill the blood of any cub. Beside him, Gene looked on in shock.
"There HAS to be a better way to carve Halloween pumpkins..."
It could be far worse. Tasli raised the knife high, light glinting off the sharpened blade before
Sharp knives are dangerous if the blade goes where you don't expect it, you drop it, miscut and soforth. But dull knives are often dangerous that way too. But only a dull knife will slip or twist at you when cutting and so very many injuries will so many things boil down to 'It just twisted and took his ear off.'

Now we know where he gets his "acidic" personality lol.
Why do I get the feeling that that scenario plays out almost the exact same way every day, thus Tasli's attitude? But, that is indeed the definition of insanity. :3

I would smash that clock. Don't ask me to smile just after waking up ! >:C
Hey ! That's the SCP duck ! They are searching for it ! XD ( Identical to non-anomalous rubber ducks in design and composition— however, when left unattended in a room, item always appears in a location different from where it was originally placed.)
Poor Tasli, but ’tis the punishment for lying in front of the fruit of the sun ! Thou should have feared his wrath more than the knife !
Nice comic ^^

Three things. One: If my alarm clock said that out loud to me, I'd LITERALLY hurl it across the room......Lmao. That's definitely NOT the thing to say to me when I first wake up. Two: Man I absolutely HATE it when fruity liquids get into my eye! I've had that happen before! Specifically one time with Lemons.......Oh my GOD that stung like heck.......Lmao.
And three: Adorable job like always :3

That's always good :3 I usually get up around 9-10 am. Something maybe as late as 11am. I used to sleep until 12pm......But I NEVER liked that. And I'm glad that habit is over & done with now lol.
And oh boy, yeah any sort of soap getting into your eyes can hurt like heck too! I never have experience dish soap yet........And hopefully never will lol. But I've had shampoo & body wash get into my eyes before. Yeah that was never a fun time lol.

It's always a scary thing when it comes to things landing in your eye. You never want that lmao. Unless it's clean water, that's maybe the only exception.....Lol. And are you really?? Well, that just gives me even more respect for you :3 And never be down on yourself when it comes to that. You do an amazing job as an artist

Well Im surprised no one else has mentioned it so I will ... Tasli's shower silhouette is so nice. Hes also very cute in Panel 5 just before cutting the grapefruit.
Is Tasli's irritability a function of his rabbitness?

lol I've no idea when kids go to school (I don't have any).
I believe Tasli would wake up earlier than he needs to, as he'd be inclined to procrastinate through most of the morning (I cannot imagine he cares much for school). ^^

They have respective parents, but much like in the world of Peanuts, adults are effectively never seen (only alluded to). Exceptions are the wolf mom and the ace fox.
