Ewe Know
RGHSKTCH: Nero
UPDATE: Before we begin, I have an update on the 'Ewe Know' situation.

To refresh one's memory, click here and read the description: https://inkbunny.net/s/2783094

Well, the first thing is 'Ewe Know' did in fact correct the original problem (and they were swift to do it): https://sta.sh/01jfocxf9nln

That said, 'Ewe Know' never replied to my email alerting them to the situation. I mean, no one NEEDED TO---I was just looking out for my neighbor, though (yes) a reply would have been nice. :(

But, in fact, a reply did come ...in the mail! o:

Check it out: https://sta.sh/01hly1zyhh1o

'Ewe Know' actually gave me the DVD! XDXDXDXDXDXD

And, no, I wasn't charged any shipping ...they had my billing address (I had to give it so I could proceed to the check-out page), but I stopped short of providing my credit card stuffs.
So my guess is I received this DVD as a thank-ewe ...which means I'll make more 'Ewe Know' art before too long (I'll probably draw one of the wolves when the time comes). /heart/

[looks at DVD] ...I GET THE STORM SONG! SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEE! ...Um, I mean ...Cool. 8)

*ahem*

Now on to our present ACO! :D

This is my replacement scribble of Sparx: the mascot of Camp E.D.G.E.

Camp E.D.G.E is a VBS (Vacation Bible School) program for children.

I don't know much about the program, though someone described their experience of it this way,

"Camp EDGE (Experience & Discover God Everywhere) Vacation Bible School was an action-packed, one-day adventure for kids.  We learned some Bible stories, and then acted them out.  We sang and danced.  We made "Birthday in a Box" kits for Lincoln and North Cedar Schools, and care packages"

Sparx (link tested 08/12/2022): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8lXUaU-9dbo

Yeah, I have nothing. :p

There was a story video made some time ago of Sparx interacting with a camp counselor. From what I remember, Sparx was a (sorta/kinda) wild animal who liked to hide things he'd find around camp.
The objects Sparx hid were clues needed to solve some sort of bible-themed story puzzle.
I forget how it worked, and the video (if it still exists) eludes me. :p

Anyway, I discovered Sparx in 2018 whilst scavenging the thrift store for things to flip on eBay. The Sparx I found was a puppet very much like the one shown in the second video.
In fact, I can show the one I found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lg11l_v0lDQ

I'm unsure who gave me permission to make YT videos, as I suck greatly at it,  but what 'cha gonna do (at least I've provided the best look most anyone reading this will ever get of the character). :p

Pencil...

The featured pencil is a round-barrel 'Masodrendu Iron', likely produced sometime in the 1940s.
The pencil features a curious string of Xs, which have been the subject of some debate.

It's very difficult to read the lettering behind the X's, but the obscured lettering seems to read (in part), 'Iroszer Gyar'.

Those who read my pencil descriptions know Iroszer Gyar (also known as 'IGY') was the communist variant of The Schuler Factory (Jozsef Schuler).

Now, myself and the person who sold this pencil to me have a disagreement over the Xs stamped over 'Iroszer Gyar', the supposed maker's name.

The seller asserts the pencil was made by The Schuler Factory in the 1940s, but once capitalist Hungary was forcibly changed to a communist economy, the Soviets tried to hide remnants of capitalist manufacture. In the case of this pencil, the maker's name was simply stamped-over with Xs.

Yet, it's clear this pencil bears a previous 'Iroszer Gyar' stamp, not a stamp of 'Schular' ...why would the Soviets 'X' the name of their stationery factory?
My belief is this pencil was X'd by revolutionists in 1956, in protest of socialist policies.

Either way, this pencil seems to represent some form of mid-century cancel culture. ^^

The other side of the pencil is blind-stamped with, "Masodrendu Iron". It also seems to bear the numbers "8832", though they're very difficult to read.

This link shows some relevant pencils from my collection: https://sta.sh/01e814ru9sf6

From the top, a 'Turan' pencil from Jozsef Schuler.
Second from the top is a 'Turan' pencil made by Iroszer Gyar, after communist takeover (again, the Schuler name was changed to Iroszer Gyar/IGY by the Soviets).
Below that is a 'Masodrendu Iron' pencil, numbered 8765. This pencil was supposedly made by Schular, though I'm dubious on that (the pencil has no other writing)
At bottom is the stamped 'Masodrendu' side of the featured pencil (the pencil with the Xs).

It's worth noting the 'Masodrendu' ('Wholesale'?) pencil line includes pencils used for coloring. In fact, our featured pencil contains a thick, dark-pink core. The blue pencil in the link above boasts a slightly slimmer blue core.
I have also a 'Masodrendu' with a hexagonal, brown-painted barrel that seems to have a graphite core, and is numbered '8610'. The aforementioned bears no other writing.

I really like your Sparkx drawing. It gives life to the character that instantly reminded me of THESE guys : https://www.cornel1801.com/disney/A-Goofy-Movie-Lesters...  : who I'm SURE you remember. :D

Also, and I can't believe I'm gonna type this, that is a VEry suspicious tear...but being a furry that's where my mind goes so we'll just leave it at that! :D

A censored pencil is really cool. I wonder if there are any other examples of that out in the world or if they were all used because no one really cared to save them since they were just meant to be used and once "cleansed" they were approved.
I hope you find more like them cause Id really like seeing just how much they did to get rid of the old guard so to speak. :)

You showed me these not too long ago ...I think you want me to draw them. ^^

...D: D: D:

The seller replied to me. They had this to say,

"but it is you don't know communist mentality:-) It seems it was a mistake by them. they exceeded the plan:-)"

I think they are partially agreeing with me without directly saying so. ^^

So, the new combined theory is the pencil was X'd by the Soviets, but they were a bit overzealous (at least as regards this specimen).
I've seen other X'd pencils before, but this was the first unsharpened one I happened on.

The seller has a lot of misc. pencils from around the world, esp. Hardtmuth pencils. I'm still hoping against hope they'll offer a Tendre & Noir, but so far no luck.

lol Only if you want to. It was just the face of the fox pupped looked almost exactly like that weird possum in the tree stump (Buford I think his name was!). :D

Id take that as a win and hopefully you can get some neat 'communist' pencils from them to share.

And I'll cross my fingers you get a Tendre & Noir! :D
