I (finally) bought a real Water Pet plush today ...so to celebrate, here's a comic (I don't have the toy yet---it has a ways to go to get here). ^_^
Seems Gene has received something in the mail ..time for an unboxing!
GENE: "A package? For me? I wonder what it could be!"
WTRPT (popping from box): "Surprise! Aren't you glad to see me!?"
GENE: "No! And why, dare I ask, did you mail yourself to me?"
WTRPT: "You thought putting a trap in your drain would keep me out, but I have bright ideas!
Now that I'm here, we can visit the water park, or go to the pool, or maybe play in the bathtub!"
GENE: "Maybe, but first things first..."
GENE (toting the Water Pet under his arm): "You've been about in that dusty old box a while---I'll need to run you through the washing machine and hang you to dry with the laundry"
WTRPT (freaking out; flailing): "Gentle cycle! Gentle cycle!"
[Much later...]
WTRPT (hanging on clothesline; to self): "Me and my bright ideas..."
The featured pencil was made in Japan and has a point protector. I'm unsure of its vintage.
This comic was drawn with a Wallace Zephyr and delineated via a long-ferruled ad pencil (circa 1910s).
