L: Having agreed to help out Nasir with testing a new spell he'd been working on, Blubby and Glacier are on their way to his home together.
Blubby: "He never did tell us what sort of effect that spell will have, did he? But he did seem pretty excited about it!"
S: Glacier - "Yeah, for sure... although I'm not gonna lie, I'm a little nervous about this, hopefully whatever spell he does on us isn't gonna be super detrimental you know?"
L: "I really doubt he would've asked for our help if it was something bad."
Soon, they arrive, and Blubby knocks on the door, Nasir quickly answering. "Okay, good, you're both here! I'm ready to get started, so come on in!"
S: "Alright...let's do this I guess..." Glacier was still nervous but he went inside nasir's place
L: Nasir leads the two through his home, passing by some weird magic-looking things along the way. Before long, the group arrives in a room with two circles on the floor, each with strange symbols written around them.
Nasir: "Okay, here we are. Now, let me actually explain what the spell will do, since I forgot to before: It should let you talk to each other in your minds for a few hours!"
Blubby: "Oh, that's actually pretty neat! We wouldn't have to worry about using up air to talk underwater!"
S: "Huh, that actually sounds kind of neat, being able to talk in our minds, alright! Let's do this then!"
L: Nasir: "Each of you step into one of those circles, and I'll get the spell started."
Blubby nods, and sits in one of the circles, smiling in anticipation of what's about to happen.
S: while Glacier was still feeling nervous, he decided to just get on with it, going to the other circle and sitting down in it
L: With both of them ready, Nasir starts up a complicated series of gestures with his wand. The circles and their symbols begin to light up... And once they get bright, both Blubby and Glacier immediately faint.
About a minute later, Blubby starts to come to, feeling weird all over. "...D-did it work...?" Still groggy, he doesn't realize his voice is quite different from normal, almost sounding like someone else...
S: Glacier always starts to come to, feeling just as weird as blubby is right now
"Oh my head... what happened..."
L: Nasir sighs in relief. "You're alright... You both passed out just as the spell finished. I don't know what happened, the scroll I learned this spell from didn't mention that being a side effect..."
Blubby: "I'm not even sure it worked... Wait, why do I sound like...?" He looks down at himself as he realizes who he sounds like, finding that his body is a lighter blue than normal, with catlike paws... Looking over in the direction of Glacier, who seems to now be in the other circle, confirms it as he sees his own body! "G-Glacier, we... I-I think we switched bodies!"
S: "What?!" Glacier looks at his own body, his body much bigger then normal, and he doesn't feel his cold body around him anymore
"What the heck?! I turned into you blubby!"
L: Nasir: "W-wait, you're..." He looks over at "Glacier". "You're Blubby..." He looks at "Blubby". "...And you're Glacier!?"
Blubby: "S-somehow, yeah!" He quickly gets up and looks himself over, still almost not believing what's happening.
S: Glacier gets up as well, looking himself over as well
"I don't believe this... we actually did switch bodies! The heck?? How did this happen?!"
L: Nasir: "I don't know, let me check that scroll real quick..." He takes it and quickly reads through, before looking at the two circles he'd made and facepalming. "Ugh, I put the symbol for TRANSFER, not communicate... Why do they have to be so similar!?"
S: "Oh come on! This was exactly what I was afraid of! Something bad to happen! Can't you change us back to our normal bodies?!"
L: Nasir: "Um... I could try to figure out some way to reverse it, but this level of magic is dangerous and complicated. It could take me weeks, if not months..."
Blubby: "I-I don't want to be stuck like this for that long!"
S: "Weeks?! Months?! I don't want it to take that long either! I want my normal body back!"
L: Nasir: "Oh, just remembered, there's a kind of plant that could help! It's called reverseweed, apparently it cancels out the effect of the last spell that was used on you if you eat it. But, it only grows 1,000 feet underwater, so it's hard to get and I don't have any..."
Blubby: "Then we'll just have to go down there... Shouldn't be too hard at least, with me- or, I guess, Glacier, being able to make bubbles like I could."
S: "Whoa whoa whoa...hang on there, you expect me to go a 1,000 feet underwater?! I don't know about that... and since I have your body, does that mean....I can't swim???"
L: Blubby: "Yeah, you'll have to just walk... But remember, you can hold your breath for 6 hours now, and that's plenty to go that far underwater!"
Nasir: "I'd come with you two for this, but there wouldn't be much point, and I don't want to be a drain on your air."
S: "Walk?! I don't wanna walk! I wanna be able to swim! And a 1,000 feet?? That's gonna make me super scared!" Glacier whimpers
L: Blubby: "I know, but that's just how my body works, we really don't have a choice... But I'll be next to you the whole time, especially since I won't be able to hold my breath as long any more. That'll be really weird..."
S: "Yeah, you've only got a 16 minutes breath hold at best, that's my record... I mean it's nice that I get to hold my breath for 6 hours, but that doesn't me I'm still scared! I don't know if I can handle this... maybe since my mind is still mine in your body that I could possibly be able to swim?"
L: "I really doubt that, I don't see how having a different mind would affect weight at all. Unless, maybe..." Blubby takes a deep breath, then exhales. "...No, can't blow bubbles. So, all my weird stuff probably stayed with my body."
S: "Dang it... oh well, I guess I'll just have to try it then... even if I'm not looking forward to this at all..."
L: Nasir: "There's a place not too far from here where you can apparently find some reverseweed, so you at least won't really have to search." He gives the two directions on where to go.
Blubby: "I think I've been near there before, that should be fine."
S: "Oh wonderful... I really don't wanna be a 1,000 feet underwater... but if it's to change us back then, I guess I'll have to do it"
L: Blubby: "Come on, let's go get done with this so we can go back to normal."
Nasir: "And if you two could bring back some extra reverseweed, I'd really appreciate it! You don't have to, though."
S: "We'll see what we can do...come on blubby let's go" Glacier then walks with blubby to the spot where the reverseweed is
L: The two get to a large lake, with Blubby actually looking a bit nervous about going in.
"You said you could hold your breath 16 minutes? It'll be so weird to need air so soon..."
S: "Yeah, that's my record... and it's certainly gonna feel weird not needing air so much..." Glacier is just as nervous too
L: "Um... Before we go under, you should try out blowing bubbles. We don't want to already be down there if it takes you a few tries. I don't really know how to describe how I do it, I just sort of... Will it to happen when I exhale."
S: "Ok... let's see" Glacier takes a deep breath and exhales out a bubble from his mouth
"Whoa! Ok this is kind of cool"
L: "Nice, you've already got it! Guess we're pretty much ready to get started now..." Blubby looks down into the water. "...Never realized before, but I think a lot of why I like water so much was from being able to hold my breath a long time... Never been this nervous about diving..."
S: "You think your nervous?? I'm just as nervous! Being able to swim was the best part about being in water! But now that i can't I'm even more terrifed then before!"
L: "You're going to be fine, you'll have loads of time down there with my lungs! Maybe you'll end up really liking this, with how long you'll be able to hold your breath!"
S: "I still don't really know... but fine, let's just give this a try, at least you'll be able to swim"
L: "Oh right, yeah, I can! It's a good thing I have an idea of how to do that... I guess that does help some." Blubby starts heading into the water as he takes deep breaths, clearly weirded out by how little air he can hold compared to usual.
S: even tho Glacier doesnt need to, he starts to deeply breathe as well, starting to head into the water too
"Man, this feels weird, I should be floating by now...but I'm not"
L: "Right, and I could probably swim by now..." Blubby hops up, and while his motions are a bit awkward, he's able to swim! "Wow, I really can! This is great!" Blubby happily swims around some.
S: "Lucky...now I know how you feel when you can't swim" Glacier sighs heavily and keeps walking, until his head is the only thing above the water
"Man this sucks!"
L: "O-oh, sorry, I'm making you jealous..." Blubby returns to be next to Glacier. "Just get a huge breath, it's gonna be okay..."
S: Glacier whimpers, normally he's pretty scared of diving, but now? He's really really scared of diving, but he had no choice, he took a last huge breath in and holds it before he continues walking down, submerging his whole body underwater
L: Blubby holds his breath and dives under as well, and while he's still nervous too, he tries to hide that. He gives Glacier a little smile, before starting to swim toward the deeper water.
S: Glacier walks down a bit deeper then tries to jump up to swim, but unfortunately he can't, he frowns disappointingly before he quickly follows blubby down, visibly tearing up as tiny bubbles escape him
L: Blubby pats Glacier on the back, hoping to help calm them down. He's slowly feeling a little better himself, at least.
S: "I hablte thblis!" Glacier then continues to walk deeper with blubby, hoping to survive the 1,000 feet underwater
L: "Webll boblth ble fiblne, webl'll geblt thblis doblne soblon..." Remembering that he doesn't have as much air as usual, Blubby has to remind himself not to talk too much.
S: "Whblatever"
the decent continues, both of them getting halfway down without any real troubles, Glacier tries to keep calm so he doesnt easily waste his air that he'll have to give to blubby
L: Over time, Blubby starts having some trouble holding his breath. It's surreal to him, needing air so soon, but he accepts that he's just going to have to put up with having a much lower limit for this dive.
S: noticing that blubby was low on breath, Glacier turns to him with concern, then pointing to his mouth with a paw to try and tell him if he needs a breath
L: Quickly recognizing what Glacier means, Blubby nods, his face red as he gets ready to try inhaling an upcoming bubble.
S: nodding back, Glacier then blows out a big bubble for Blubby, managing it fine as he hands it to blubby, hoping he'll inhale it fine
L: Blubby grabs the bubble, and while he almost loses his grip on it, he does manage to fully inhale it, his blush fading away. He holds back a chuckle as he now realizes what it's like for others when he gives out bubbles like that.
S: Glacier chuckles just a tiny bit, and even tho they have been underwater for 45 minutes, Glacier doesnt feel a need to breathe at all, which is certainly a bit weird for him but the duo carry on down deeper, Glacier slowly getting more scared the deeper they go
L: Blubby tries to stay calm, but the water pressure is harder on Glacier's body than his own, and there's starting to be a bit of an ache from it. He whines a little, but knowing nothing can be done, he just accepts it.
S: hearing the whines, Glacier gets concerned, since his body is not used to these depths at all, while blubby's body can handle it fine, thankfully soon enough, the duo reach 1,000 feet, and an old abandoned building comes into view, that is supposed to have the reverseweed in it
L: While he's momentarily surprised at the sight of the underwater building, Blubby is determined to keep going and get back to being himself, and he cautiously swims into the building.
S: Glacier is just as surprised as blubby, but he too is determined to find what they need, he walks inside and starts to look around for the reverseweed
L: Certain that the reverseweed will be obvious once it's found, Blubby starts searching as well, trying to ignore his returning need for air as he starts blushing.
S: Glacier tries to hurry and find the reverseweed, and thankfully after some looking around, they seem to find some kind of plant, Glacier points to it
L: Blubby looks over and smiles, glad this'll be over soon. He carefully takes a bite of it, grimacing some as it doesn't seem to taste very good, and swallows. Nothing seems to happen... It seems like Glacier will have to do the same.
S: Glacier then walks over and takes some of the reverseweed, he bites it and grimaces as well at the taste, and in a flash of light, Blubby and glacier's bodies are back to normal!
L: It takes Blubby a moment to get his bearings, but he wags his tail as he realizes he's back to being himself again! "Niblce, webl're goblod tblo gblo!"
S: Glacier looks over at himself and smiles
"Hebly! I'm bablck to norblmal! Yably! Mmmm!" he then covers his mouth as he's suddenly low on breath
L: "Riblght, hblere!" Blubby blows out a bubble for Glacier to breathe, then starts gathering up what's left of the reverseweed to bring it to Nasir.
S: Glacier then breathes the bubble in and helps blubby gather the reverseweed
"Rigblht, leblt's gblet outtbla hblere!" Glacier quickly swims for the exit, now that he's finally able to
L: Already missing being able to swim, Blubby walks with Glacier back out of the underwater building, holding onto some of the reverseweed.
S: then the duo start to make the journey back up to the surface, Glacier was a bit eager to surface for fresh air
L: Blubby is still doing fairly well at this point, his horns only a bit more than a quarter blue. Confident he and Glacier will be fine, he offers to let them ride on his back for now.
S: Glacier shrugs then swims up to ride on blubby's back, and together they make their way up to the distant surface above
L: They manage to get there before Glacier would need air again, and Blubby calmly exhales. "That was a neat little adventure, huh? It was actually kind of cool, being someone else for a while!"
S: Glacier gasps a bit heavily as he surfaces
"Well I mean, I didn't like not being able to swim, but at least I had the 6 hour lung capacity, that was kind of nice, but I'm glad I'm back to normal, now come on...let's take these reverseweed to nasir"
L: "Yep, and we've got to thank him for telling us how to get back to normal!" He and Glacier head back to see Nasir again.
Nasir: "You're back! And I see you've brought some reverseweed, so it must have worked!"
S: "Yep! I'm back to my old self! Thank arceus! Here's the reverseweed for you"
Glacier hands it to Nasir
"Be careful, that stuff tastes terrible, haha!"
L: Nasir takes the reverseweed. "Yeah, magic plants tend to not taste very good. But, I'm glad it all worked out, and I'm sorry I put you two through so much trouble."
Blubby: "It's not a big deal, we both managed to at least get SOME enjoyment out of being each other!"
S: "Yeah... but I'm glad to be back to my normal self, I think I'm gonna go home tho, this day has been crazy!"
L: Nasir: "Oh, Blubby, before I forget, I've been wanting to inspect your body with magic so we might figure out where you got your abilities from. If that's alright with you, at least."
Blubby: "Sure, I'm up for that. Hopefully it won't feel too weird..."
S: "Seriously? Your really gonna let Nasir do magic on you again after something went wrong last time??" Glacier whispers to blubby "I wouldn't trust it... bad idea"
L: Blubby: "It was an honest mistake, I don't fault him for it. Magic seems like it can be pretty easy to mess up."
Nasir: "It'll just be a simple identifying spell, the most wrong it could go would just be it not working. Perfectly safe!"
S: "Ha, yeah right... but whatever, don't say I didn't warn you, I'm outta here
Glacier heads out of nasir's place and goes back to his home
L: Later, Blubby comes by to tell Glacier how it went. "So, nothing bad happened, but something interesting did. Like I expected, there's magic in my horns, lungs, and throat, which is why my horns change color, my lungs are bigger on the inside, and I can blow bubbles. But, Nasir said that there should be some kind of identifier in that magic for who gave me that, but there's nothing. He said it's like they just sort of... Showed up."
S: "Huh, that's interesting... but hey at least nothing bad happened, now can I please take my nap!? I'm exhausted!"
L: "Right, sorry. Hope I didn't wake you up. See you again sometime!" Blubby leaves.
S: "Bye blubby" Glacier yawns and then closes his eyes to finally take a nap after this weird day
