I uploaded the line art for this one before, but took it down after an hour or so. I've now colored it and MAY leave it up a bit longer now. ^^
Seems Gene is watching 'Chowder' on his phone. Let's see what happens...
PANINI (from phone): "Oh, hi, Chowder!"
CHOWDER (from phone): "I'M NOT YOUR BOYFRIEND!"
GENE (thinking out loud, unaware Mimi is behind him): "I totally relate, Chowder!"
MIMI (annoyed): "Oh really!?"
GENE (Eep): "Eep!"
MIMI (annoyed): "You're right, Gene---I'm wasting my time with you! Maybe I could start to like Tasli instead? Sure he's got a bit of an attitude, but it's endearing in its way ...I guess!"
MIMI (attempting reverse-psychology): "And maybe Tasli's kinda cute---he is now that I think about it! Do ya think I should go tell him right now?"
/Without saying a word, Gene reaches into his hat, revealing Tasli (thus calling Mimi's bluff)/
TASLI (irritable; to Gene): "This better be good---you know I hate being pulled out of your hat!"
GENE: "You'll love it, Tasli! Mimi has something she can't wait to tell you!"
MIMI (on the spot): "Oh, hi, Tasli! I-I, uh---that is, I want to say, I, um---"
TASLI (impatient): "SPIT IT!"
MIMI (thinking fast): "I want to tell you if you go out in the woods today, be sure to watch out for Gomphotherium!"
TASLI (unimpressed): "Pfft! I'm outta here!"
/Tasli retreats into Gene's hat---he cannot be pulled out again today; Mimi breathes a sigh of relief/
Gene (chipper): "Well, I guess that means Tasli's off the hook, too!"
MIMI (matter-of-fact): "Tasli was never REALLY on the menu---I was teasing you because I like you, and you tease me back because you like me, too! Face it, Gene, you're stuck with me!"

Anyway... the usual things must be said in this space: I'm still drawing, I'm just not uploading (and that which I'm drawing almost never sees completion). The reason for this is (you guessed it!) the art is bad; I don't know how to draw. It's become embarrassing to put my art on display, so I must do so very VERY sparingly. It's either this way or nothing at all.

An old salesman sample with a Valentine's theme. I have others in this series: one for birthdays, Christmas, Halloween and Thanksgiving (respectively). There were likely others (Easter; July 4th; etc), but those remain elusive (if they exist).
I always took it as a "if they ever got together the series would end" kind of situation, though, knowing Chippie, I think it's more likely the series would officially end with a "big no" from Gene and Mimi finally giving up on her love quest, which technically also resolves the "central" conflict.

He secretly seems to love a plump Mimi, maybe it's because it makes her small clothes fit differently, maybe he just likes more bunny to love! I don't remember ever seeing this posted but one of the other replies here says it was so I'm glad I get to see it now that it's colored. It's cute and silly and that wins me over every time. :D As for the pencil I hope you find those elusive ones cause a set of them would be quite cool. Hopefully you post the others when the time is right. :)
