MAE: "Coohie-coo!" /Mae tickles Lupe's pad/
LUPE (startled): "EEE!"
/Mae chuckles/
LUPE (annoyed): "Ok, ok, I'm awake! What's your problem, Mae!?"
MAE (sassily): "Don't have one, but Mom has a bucket of butter beans she wants shelled!"
LUPE: "Oh, for cryin' out loud!"
/and so Lupe shells butter beans/
WOLFMOM (to Lupe): "You're a good boy to shell the beans for me---I wasn't even going to ask!"
LUPE (suspicous; to Mae): "Lemme get this straight---Mom didn't want ME to shell the beans, did she?"
MAE (innocently): "Didn't say she did---only said she wanted them shelled!"
Ok, I know at least one question I'm going to be asked here: 'Why didn't you draw Mae tickling Lupe?'
The answer is the same as why I won't draw Gene getting spanked. ^^
I'm not opposed to either thing, but DRAWING those things (among others) would ensure requests for more ...and as I won't be obliging to such requests (or to requests in general), it's best not to show such things in my cartoons (I can and sometimes do imply these things, but I'll not SHOW them). :3

PENCIL...
The featured pencil is one of those tube pencils that has a surprise inside. In this case, the tube contains dried peas (I counted six). ^^
Of course, this is an add pencil, and given this pencil was filled with dried peas, one may think the pencil is promoting a farm or a feed and seed store ...but no, the pencil was actually made for a Ford Car dealership. ^^
The pencil reads,
"Old Ern sez, 'For the best PEA PICKIN' value, see your Ford dealer ORVILLE LESLIE & SONS'

Clearly, this pencil is from the 1950s or 60s.
The tube on the pencil reads,
"Actual sample of picked peas" ...because 'Pea Pickin'' joke. :P
And I know butter beans aren't peas, but peas aren't as funny as butter beans (and I'm from the South---my grandmother used to grow butter beans and other vegetables in our back yard). ^^
