TASLI: "Say, did you hear the one about the kid everyone ganged up on, queuing up and smacking him in the face one-by-one?"
MIMI (disgusted): "No, and it sounds awful"
TASLI (dismissive): "Nah, it's great, you just didn't like the punchline"
As the red note says, I hadn't intended to publish this cartoon (so this one is sloppier than usual). I drew the first panel yesterday (along with some other scribbles), but I didn't add to it because I didn't have an idea for something Mimi and Tasli could do together (no story/joke means no comic).
Luckily, as declared by the other note, Z (whom I shared yesterday's scribbles with) had a suggestion for the Mimi/Tasli *scribble ...so I slap-dashed panels 2 and 3 together and ...now I have an upload. :P
*the others were a Gene/Mimi and a Timmy/wild wolves scribble, respectively.
Incidentally, I'm unsure if I've ever made a comic that was just Mimi and Tasli together. I may've drawn one, but I can't remember. :P Mimi and Tasli are, of course, friends, though Mimi is mostly interested in seeing Gene---it just kinda happens that Gene and Tasli are usually together (sometimes with Mubba) when Mimi comes calling.
Pencil...
The featured pencil ...is an ink pen. :P
Specifically, the featured item is the 'Graphic' by Bic. I chose to feature this one because it was made in New Zealand (a fact our guest writer may or may not care about). The 'Graphic; is almost as long as a pencil, but is at least twice as thick and boasts a triangular barrel. The other side of this pen has a logo that says 'Billboard/Retractable/Clear'.
This particular pen doesn't write anymore, but that's ok (it's among the VERY few pens in my collection).
OMG-- you're fired!! Took me a minute to figure it out. <insert groan here>. I'm hardly a connoisseur of pens, but this is one I haven't seen before and I like it. Having had to 'repair' pens for over a decade in a previous life, it might be ideal to replace the tip with one that works. I'm a fan of fine-points but to each their own. Might be more difficult if it's the ink that's hardened. Probably easy enough to get another pen. I carry my own custom short pens so I am more prone to replace parts than the entire piece.

I didn't buy the pen to use, I got it because I liked it.
The scrap has a bucket one can purchase, and fill with whatever assorted items one finds in (what I call) the bucket area. Within this area is a bin of pencils, another for pens, markers and crayons (respectively). To get the most from one's bucket, it's a good idea to fill it up ...so I do. ^^ This pen came at no extra cost---it helped fill my bucket, and has contributed to my collection.

The thrift store I worked at for many years had a similar concept: a covered outdoor area with junk items on rows of tables. You could buy a box for $2-$5 (depending on size) and fill it for that price with whatever was out there. As an employee, I could have anything I wanted from that area for free. It's where some of my first batch of wooden pencils came from.
Ever so! The thrift store I worked at for many years had a similar concept: a covered outdoor area
New Zealand, of course, doesn't have its own pencils, we're too small to make them. We're just not world lead-ers. (Either that or we're so confident we don't believe in erasing your mistakes.)
Poooor Mimi; this is why she prefers Gene.

(deep breaths) It's ok...it didn't draw the cartoon...it's ok...deepbreaths deep breath!!
Actually I LIKE pens. Always have always will. In fact ballpoint pen sketches are among the coolest things in the world so it's all good! Just...a little shock to see one in a PENCIL collection even if it IS rather interesting. And now you've got me curious (a dangerious thing to be sure) about what OTHER pens you have! Share? :D
Also that's a cute little cartoon. Always a treat to see your gang just having silly fun! :D
