I uploaded the original earlier today, but deleted it ...and redrew it from scratch ...because I had the idea that reducing the panels would enable me to showcase more pencils ...but I put the blank area on the wrong side, and then had to swap out a panel (it's obvious which one), and ...I hate my art. :P
WUFFLECHU (singing):
Wufflechu, Wufflechu I wuffle me, And I wuffle you Wufflechu, Wuff---
WUFFLECHU (to a random fox): "Oh! Hello there!"
WUFFLECHU (stretching): I'm Wufflechu, and I wuffle you all the way up to here!"
FOX: "Are you wearing someone's head?"
WUFFLECHU: "It's ok, I have permission"
FOX: "...That's creepy"
Who or what is Wufflechu?
DeviantArt hosted a wolf-themed art challenge, and as with the last challenge, I drew something only loosely related to it. In this case, I made this: https://inkbunny.net/s/2695930
The featured pencil is a 'Timber Wolf' from Crayola. I used it to color the hat.
Comic drawn via a Wallace 'Zephyr' pencil, delineated via a 'Rapis Extra' pencil.

Given how pokemon work, some jsut bing heads, others having all sort os detachable bodyparts, no 'chu would find this situation odd. They'd jsut hav eto be careuful not to bump into any thunderstones or such and evolved al-al Slowking.

Nintendo: Introducing, MORE fire\fighting starters! And a new legendary trio! Torcalc, creator of the laws of the pokemon universe, Plumbun, the one that inscribed them and Knowtepad, the keeper of knowledge!
Z: They're literally a calculator, pencil and paper.
Nintendo: We have a thousand of these suckers, we're getting low on ideas.
Z: Who is even still buying this junk?
Chippy: Oh wow! Plumbun has 156 different variations when it fuse-evolves with unown! I'm in!

IMHO, Pokemon shouldn't have gone past Gen 3 (bear in mind I didn't play the games, just the TCG).
I mean, what can (say) Feraligatr do that Blastoise couldn't? Baby pokemon were a great concept (esp. Cleffa). so I gave the 'Neo' sets a chance. Past those expansions, I wasn't interested.

I think there's thousands of ideas out there, a big problem is they're not inventive enough. Forget tododile vs squirtle, there's already more than one aligator 'mon out there. Same with foxmon or things like butterfly mon. Embracing a wider array of animals (and other things) could've lead to some really inventive designs and mechanics. But alas, opportunity so often missed.

Not just reused animal types, but they went with some strange objects to pokeify: key rings, light fixtures, ice cream (vanilla, of course), and GARBAGE BAGS! D:
Pokemon was better at 151. There were enough of them to collect and affix to merchandise (without being overwhelming), and because there were relatively few, the pokemon could (and did!) have more individual personality. I feel, too, that the original pokemon made a bit more 'sense', given the scenario presented by the game and the anime. The original pokemon could be captured and tamed by a 10-year-old, in-universe.
Today, pokemon are effectively godlike in power, size and ability, and everything wants to eat your soul or possess it in some way---many (in my subjective opinion) aren't cute anymore---too many spikes and armor plating for me. :p

Sometimes it takes a little getting used to the newer stuff or you move on... Ever watch He-Man? The newer NetFlix series are pretty good. Once you get used to them. (imho)

Their skimpy clothing also fascinated me. But I prefer they keep on what little they're wearing. Ever saw Thundercats's 1985 pilot episode Exodus? That Barbie Doll nudity just looked bizarre. How about you?

I mean, the original gen had two, TWO pokemon that were just pokeballs. I think the odd objects started early. And I mean, the original 151 had ghosts living bombs (the orb-mon again) the original lifeform and a bioengineered superweapon. Honestly given some of the descriptions I'd not trust a 10 year old with Ponyta, let alone pikachu.
I just see the later gens as more of the same. I think the issue is that there being more, an ever-expanding roster, is what keeps Pokemon going. Nobody's gonna play slight upgrades to the same game for 20 years, but new content brings people back. Like when they released Pencil 2.

They were both the colors of the Japanese flag AND the pokeball! They could be bombs, mimics, or mimics that explode. What's not to love?
Ghosts are fine, and superweapons are obtained only after you've proven yourself by defeating your rival ...another ten-year-old. Ok, NNM :P Oh, you can trust the kid with the pikachu, just not the pikachiu with the kid ...esp. in the Marten/Chippy-verse. ^^
I agree there are too many. :3
...Pencil 2! D:
Why does everyone hate on Voltorb and Electrode? They were both the colors of the Japanese flag AND
Because, first of all there's TWO of them. Second the design is lazy. Icecream sure is derivative, but at least it's detailed, the design changes between evolutions and they're not just BALLS WITH EYES. Even th living cogs were more inventive. You know what a Timmy-style Voltorb would be? A circle!
Are you saying your pikas are untrustworthy? I mean your foxes, famously so, your wolves yes, your skunks surprisingly. But your lemon mice? What did THEY do?
Pencil 2: Auto sharpens. Requires internet connection. Completely biodegradeable including the lead.

Sure, self-sharpening is an old feature, but ti's never really been BUNDLED with anything before. All that's old is new again! Pencil 3 will be carbon-free, lead free and dual core!
Everyone forgets about Pixiv. Sure, self-sharpening is an old feature, but ti's never really been B
The origin of the head/hat is at least as mysterious as what's under Mubba's helmet (and, perhaps, just as disturbing ...or wholesomely adorable ...it's too much!) :o D:
