One of the deadliest pirates on the ocean, Freya will not hesitate to cut you down if you get in her way or cross her the wrong way. She is the mother of Ion, taking the name Ionia-Yggdrasil when she married Ion's father Ivan, after the two of them got to know one another after Freya was injured in a failed raid in a coastal town where he worked as a doctor. Ivan, being the son of the country's founder, offered Freya a new way in life, with her thinking she had left the pirate life behind, she traveled with him back to the capital after his mother had passed away and his father wanted to hand the throne over to him. Freya was about 5 months pregnant at the time and fully committed to her new life, officially marrying Ivan a month after their move in late December.

In late March of the next year, Freya gave birth to her first born son, Ion, who through the years nurtured his sense for adventure and helped him realize his natural swordsmanship abilities. She would take him a lot out on the ocean in a small boat and teach him how to sail while never divulging her former life as a pirate. While Ivan had to teach Ion about one day becoming the overseer of Norland, which pained him, Freya taught him to be feisty and mischievous, teaching him how to get away with little things and how to stealthy while doing so. Ivan didn't totally agree with some of Freya's teachings but knew some of these skills were valuable to learn and he wanted Ion to have a fun childhood as much as he could, something that he was never offered, though he hope it didn't come back to bite him latter.

When Ion was 8, she received unfortunate news from her homeland that her parents were killed and her brother was captured by Contract Hunters. Knowing she was on their list as well and that they would not stop at nothing to capture her dead or alive, she didn't want to put her family in danger or in a position where they could be used against her. Freya made the painful decision to leave both Ivan and Ion behind, returning to her home village and taking back up the mantle her parents left behind. She retook her name Freya, becoming a scourge of the seas once again and was able to rescue her brother from certain execution, becoming on of the Contract Hunter's most valuable targets in the process. The pirates were significant enemies of the Contract Hunters though their town was mostly safe from them as it laid in the heart of dragon territory to whom the Hunters had a truce with and would not perform their mission there, though they didn't know the pirate town was there.

The pirate town was also home to somewhat of a secrete, all of the pirates were grey foxes, but most of them had dragon ancestors, to which had dormant dragon blood running through their veins, allowing them to transform into floof dragons in moments of great stress, which is one of the reasons why the pirates were so resilient. Freya was one of these that had dragon blood within her, letting her transform into what she became to be know as the dark dragon Freya when thins got a bit harry. This ability was passed down to Ion, to which he had to master it on his own. During her rejuvenated life as a pirate, Freya had a couple of one night stands which did result in her giving birth to her second son Krola, to who she nurtured him in the ways of being a pirate.

Years latter after she went on a pillaging spree in a bunch of coastal towns, she was confronted by a group of Hunters, to which she recognized the leader. Instead of fighting him, she slowly walked over to him and embraced him as tears ran down her face. The son she so painfully left behind was now standing in front of her and all she could feel was overwhelming joy that she got to see Ion once again. Ion at first could process what was going on but her scent and the sound of her voice was familiar and then it dawned on him that she was his mother that he thought was long dead. Ion embraced her back as tears started running down his face as feeling of sadness, anger and joy started building up inside of him. Ion's comrades stood down at the sight of the heartwarming scene unfolding in front of them, as even though Ion was on the side of her enemy, she was proud of what he became. She asked if he would bring her in, as she would not try to cut down one of her own but Ion told her not to worry, as he would never harm his family. He never expected her to be the pirate he was Hunting (as he never knew his mother's real name was Freya) though it started to make sense to him from all the lessons she taught him as a child.

Ion told Freya to liver her life as she saw fit and he would make sure no harm would come to her, but asked her to not be so ambitious. Freya continued to be a scourge on the ocean and the coastal towns while the Hunters started to target her less and less due to Ion taking those contracts and purposely not completing them. While Freya tried to slow down her actions to not put too much pressure on Ion, sometimes she could not help herself and made his life fairly difficult but would always try to repay him somehow, usually giving him small guidance on his dragon from. While she wanted Ion to come to her home town, she though it would be best for now not to lead him there as with him being a Hunter would make the villages uneasy, even though it was one of his birthrights. Freya knew Ion would not betray them but didn't want the villagers to come to conclusions about him. Freya also decided it was best not to tell Ion about Krola as she didn't want to over burden him with his Hunter duties on someone that wasn't even in their sights yet, though she hoped they would meet one day, not on opposite sides but as the brothers they should be.
