The evening was calm as the sun was setting and the moon was starting to take it's place in the sky, in the field of a small park were two foxes walking through, the older one holding the hand of the younger one. The younger fox though was a bit shaky, his legs wobbled a bit as he took steps, supported by the older fox walking by his side, suddenly, the younger fox lost his balance falling forward, bracing himself to land face first on the ground but was caught just in time by the older fox watching over him. "Ion are you ok? the older fox asked, "dad, I am fine, you can stop your over worrying" the younger fox known as Ion replied back. "Still though I think we had enough 'fun' for one day" Ion's father Ivan replied back to his son, "you are still recovering from those injuries and I don't want you to push yourself too much." "Dad, I said I am fine, it was just one fall..." Ion companied back but Ivan cut him off, "one fall yes, but you have been wobbly since we left home and we have been out for quite a while now, that is enough for one day for you right now so no complaining" Ivan told his son as he picked him up and placed him on his back as they started walking home, "and that is enough walking for now as well, we need to let your legs rest." "Come on!!!" Ion complained again, "I don't want to be carried, I can still at least walk home, it is not that far." "Nope, like I said you are far to wobbly to be walking right now, I don't want to risk any more head trauma for you right now that your headaches are finally under control" Ivan replied back, "maybe if you had your leg braces on you could, but you did not want to wear them." "I hate wearing those things" Ion pouted, "and as you can see I don't need them anymore, I can walk fine on my own now..." "really now" Ivan cut in with a chuckle, "then why were you holding onto my hand for dear life as you did? You sure it was not because you felt like falling every time you took a step?" "No... I was... it was only because you wanted me to do so because..." Ion started saying, "because you wouldn't be able to get anywhere if I didn't?" Ivan asked his son with a smirk. Ion remained silent at his father's remark, he knew he was right and was beaten in their little scuffle of words, "you know" Ivan started saying, "it is recklessness like this that caused you to have your accident in the first place" he continued as Ion looked down. "but while you can't change the past, you can learn from this and better yourself for the future" Ivan continued saying, "if you are willing to actually heed my advice this time, when your body is fully up to it, I will train you so something like this should not happen again."
Ion's face brightened with joy, "Really, you will actually train me now!?" Ion joyfully asked, "yes, as long as you listen to my teachings and don't take things farther then what I set for you, you need to take things slower and learn the basics before getting to more advance stuff, you might think you may be able to do it but, your accident should be a reminder of what can happen if you are not ready." "What about Zephyr? Can he join us as well? Flint is already way ahead of us in parkour and already gets training in with hos tribal warriors, I don't want to leave him behind" Ion asked, "as long as his parents are ok with it then I don't see why not since it would be to the benefit to each of you but again the same rules apply otherwise, there will be stricter measures applied, besides your injuries, you got off rather easily last time so don't expect the same thing if it happens again, injured or not" Ivan replied, "and with that, that also means..." "I know, I know, even if I don't like wearing them, I will put my leg and arm braces back on when we get home" Ion cut in, "good, I see you are all ready taking in the lesson," Ivan replied back with a smile, "but when we get back you are going straight to bed, so you can wait until tomorrow to put them back on ok." "What why, I never go to bed this early" Ion complained back, "I did say I will listen and put them back on and you said I could walk around on my own if I could so why are you forcing me to stay in bed still?" "Because Ion, like I said actions have consequences" Ivan replied, "today you decided not to wear them, so you have to deal with the fallout of that decision, but if you make a better decision tomorrow..." "I know, I know, I can't change the past but can only learn from it" Ion replied with a groan. "Good you are getting it" Ivan said with a smile as they arrived back home, "so now no complaining, you need to let your legs rest from all the extra stress you put on them so that tomorrow you can help them heal properly" Ivan continued as he placed Ion in his bed. "Still, I am not that sleepy" Ion replied, "but your body probably is from your decision today, I am sure it will thank you for giving it the time it needs to rest" Ivan replied as Ion gave up, he was not winning this one. "So good night and I will see you in the morning!" Ivan said as he left the room, turning the light off and closing the door, "night dad" Ion replied just before the door was shut, suddenly finding himself fairly exhausted from the day that had transpired and before he knew it, fast asleep dreaming of the days to come.
