Character Sheet for Santos Maria
Character Description
Santos is the Registrar of The Elite in the Albion series. He's very fast at talking and moving though it's more to do with being fast-paced rather than physically fast. His speed is very off-putting and difficult to follow though his lightning fast reasoning and cleaver elaborate put downs make him awesome to watch. Not very good on his own in a fight, his only moves are a rapid random slap combo which stuns the enemy and does little damage and a his sucker punch, which is an attack from behind where he catches an enemy off his guard and punches them in the face ignoring the enemy's tension-based and flow-following passive guard power. Dream is the hardest person for Santos to beat due to his default countering ability and high awareness behind him.
Personality
Santos is extremely impatient and intolerant of most people however he has a strong moral alignment. His speed at movement and talking is extremely off-putting but he's very very intelligent. He's capable of rapid reasoning and can often solve a mystery in seconds. He's also very clever in how he acts and can form complex plans very quickly. He's a very good judge of character and very socially aware, not to mention very observant in general. He's a poor fighter and has no time for formal training but he often doesn't need to as he can run rings around people with his smarts. He likes children and will often defend the weak, but rather than doing physical work himself, knows exactly who to call in times of need. His knowledge of paperwork, business, crime investigation, military tactics and the law means he's smart enough to know exactly how to proceed.
Likes/Dislikes
likes humble people, defenseless people, children and animals, dislikes arrogant people, selfish people, bullies and greedy people
Background/History
Santos actually has a rather colorful history. Born with an overactive metabolism most people like him often age quickly and die early from cancer but Santos has an odd ability of being unable to age. He spent time as a drug dealer, highly successful police officer, military tactician, lawyer and finally a secretary for a large business. After getting a reputation as a wandering hero not by trying to be one but being very strongly morally aligned for good and unable to let things go he was approached by numerous members of the Elite at different times but each time he refused to join their team. It wasn't until Versus turned up, at the time not being a member of the Elite, that Santos had a reason to be involved with the main plot. Santos was infuriated by Versus' attitude but was unable to best him with his smarts as Versus was just too strong and fought his way out of every trap Santos set. Santos then approached Enigma directly and agreed to run the organisation of events for the Elite. Versus being rather angry that Santos was attacking him and chasing after him for revenge approached Enigma and demanded to be a member of the Elite to get to Santos. However Santos kept Versus distracted with missions Santos himself organized and eventually they came to respect each other. At the end of the Elite series Santos was killed with along with the other normal people Versus saying that Santos was the only "pathetic type of person" (meaning a person without fighting skills or powers) he really cared about. Santos is still running the Elite today and has featured in many episodes since. He's fun to watch and although he's no match for super-villains there's plenty of powerful criminals he's shut down single-handed.
Relatives/Family
Santos has a brother named Plato who is his bitter rival. The rest of their family died due to the same condition that Santos has though Plato survived due to not having the disease.
