Character Description
Personality
A very kind and gentle soul with a passion for music, art and poetry. He's devoted to his wife Delilah and he's very quick at reading people's feelings, often knowing exactly how to deal with a troublesome social situation. A person that people rush to for advice on social issues, he's very much loved within the town of Altwater. Very observant, he's often the go to guy for information, if he doesn't psychologically analyse you first. Though not that bright and still struggling with some aspects of the English language, he often knows exactly what to do or can find someone who does and takes charge when leadership is needed. Humble and shy, he often puts others before himself to the point where he becomes overworked, and the people of Altwater have abused that side of his nature more than a few times. Not shy of raising his fists in times of violence, he's rather strong and doesn't know when to quit when he's set his mind to something, though that's usually because he's in the right.
Background/History
Mave moved to the human world after failing to find a mate among his own kind. Seeking a human female out as his soul mate, he found one girl that was abused by her father and her lover who were great friends of each other and even gloated about it to themselves over a mug of beer. Appalled by their behavior Mave stormed into the house and told them in no uncertain terms what he thought of them. They attacked him and he fought back but he was overpowered by the both of them until Delilah rushed to his aid and helped fight off the two bullies with him. However the men rushed to the local tavern and told a tale of the locust that had attacked them in their home and stolen Delilah from them. When the townspeople came to the house they found Mave sitting down in a chair with his wounds being treated by Delilah who was in no way incapacitated. When they called for her to come outside she told the whole town what her father and lover had done and even walked outside of her own free will without any haste. The townspeople convinced by her actions turned on her father and lover and questioned them about it. They denied it and went to grab the girl but they were stopped. Then a woman from the crowd confirmed the story and one by one more and more people told accounts of the men's cruelty including accusations of violence towards other men's wives. The townsfolk had heard enough and arrested the two men. Though they were sceptical of the manfly who had said nothing so far and kept him away from the woman, he eventuually won over the people of the town by playing his role as a local performer. Later the woman he rescued made excuses to see Mave on a regular basis and eventually the two of them fell in love and got married. Until this point the town had been rather suspicious of fairies but after meeting Mave turned themselves around and began to be very pro-fairy and supportive of the fairy people. Now in Neoursheir, fairies are very much respected as equal to man. A belief that is not shared across the rest of the world. Mave and Delilah went on to have 6 manfly children and are currently trying for their 7th. Due to Mave's heroic actions he's more commonly known now by his nickname, Angel.
Relatives/Family
Angel's extensive family live in the fairy world though Angel himself lives in the human world with his human wife Delilah and their 6 young children.
World/Setting
set in a fictional world much like medieval Europe, there are various mythological creatures around including fairies and undead as well as humans. Humans tend to live with their own kind and only interfere with fairy kind when they want something. Fairies however tend to visit the human world uninvited though most don't cause any trouble unless provoked. Undead however are little troublemakers and disliked by both sides as they are a pest to everyone. In the land of Neoursheir, humans and fairies have lived quite happily alongside each other by keeping to their own kind, however the introduction of undead to the area has caused a stir, especially as they aren't interested in keeping out of other people's business.
Body
green exoskeleton with black eyes and a yellow patch on the breast that goes up the front of the neck and over the muzzle and down to the groin and then part way down the inner thigh. also has yellow on the palms of the hands and soles of the feet. green antennae protruding from the forehead.
Clothing
black coat and tails, black suit trousers. has trouble with shirts.
Accessories
a very expensive and rare fiddle.
