Character Description
Personality
Bouncy and full of life she's often happy but very cheeky. Although she likes to have fun and rarely take part in chores, she is always there for people who need her though she'll try every other option first. Encouraging but lazy, she's a bit of a hypocrite and she's not really mature enough to know how to be serious. Packing a nasty bite and kick she's good in a fight but being cowardly she'll try to avoid it in the first place, however should something trigger her anger she can be quite vicious. Prone to jealousy she has a rivalry with Abby over Will and doesn't like them spending time together though Abby and Will aren't interested in each other in that way. Often doing things she shouldn't she's a pest and a troublemaker though she can fool people by pretending to be sweet and innocent. She often tells lies though she really cares for her friends and doesn't like to see them get hurt, often by problems she causes herself.
Likes/Dislikes
likes fish, she knows it's ironic, Will, who she intends to be her boyfriend, swimming, even more so than most Selkies, and curling up by the fire, dislikes sharks, fairies who think she's just a human in costume, and fishermen, who she regularly steals from.
Background/History
Aye's mother Purleen in seal form was bullied by male Selkies and moved up onto land to escape. Badly injured and slowly dying, a kind fisherman named Ronan who liked to feed the seals, took her into his home and gave her shelter and food until she healed. Indebted to his kindness she revealed her identity as a Selkie and promised to serve him. On seeing her beauty he instantly fell in love with her but unlike most men realized that she belonged in the sea and refused to marry her saying that he'd ask for a favor later. One day during a storm, Ronan got lost at sea and feared the worst, however Purleen came to his aid and showed him the way home. They went on to have several children including Aye but one day Purleen swam back into the sea with her children and has lived in the fairy world since.
Aye now lives on her own and after several failed relationships with humans and Selkie alike she's got eyes for Will and he enjoys her company as well.
Relatives/Family
Aye has a mother Purleen who lives alone nearby in the fairy world. She also has multiple siblings who each have their own lives around the area. Aye is particularly fond of Will and wants him to be her boyfriend though she's got a bad track record when it comes to lovers.
World/Setting
set in a fictional world much like medieval Europe, there are various mythological creatures around including fairies and undead as well as humans. Humans tend to live with their own kind and only interfere with fairy kind when they want something. Fairies however tend to visit the human world uninvited though most don't cause any trouble unless provoked. Undead however are little troublemakers and disliked by both sides as they are a pest to everyone. In the land of Neoursheir, humans and fairies have lived quite happily alongside each other by keeping to their own kind, however the introduction of undead to the area has caused a stir, especially as they aren't interested in keeping out of other people's business.
