"Breathless virtual challenger"
Playing a VR aquaphilia game that he's a fan of, Lenn swam through its virtual ocean, happy to have leveled up his breath holding ability to the point where it's beginning to close in on his real ability. Going deep, deep down, trusting to be kept from drowning by the air bottles he'd found over time, he happened across a fancy door with writing on it... He knew from experience that a sort of dungeon would be past it, with some kind of upgrade at its end. He read the writing: "With feet of steel and lungs of the same, a new ability shall be your aim: The depths' pressure shall bother you no more, allowing dives to the deepest seafloor." Lenn touched the door, and it didn't open. That meant he'd need certain accessories on, and he returned to the distant surface to adjust his loadout, already knowing what he'd have to equip.
After taking off his usual casual setup of Speechstone (Allowed him to talk to fish), Clear Bubble (Let him talk clearly underwater and without using up air, as he normally couldn't in the game), and Speed Fins (Made him swim faster), he switched to most of what he'd often use for clearing dungeons: Hydroventilator Necklace (Let him survive drowning longer) and Spare Bottle (Gave an extra air bottle). He wished he could use the Desperation Fins for their way higher swimming speed when low on breath, but he couldn't have two things on his feet at once. Mentally preparing himself, Lenn took and held a deep breath as he equipped the Steel Boots. Instantly he sank underwater, rapidly making his way back down toward where he was before. He soon landed back on the seabed with a thud, and wasted no time in returning to the door, touching it again. This time, the door began to glow and opened, and the dolphin darted inside.
Quite some time passed, and he'd begun to struggle to keep holding his breath, his breath meter getting low... He paused for a moment and took an air bottle from his belt, turning it upside-down before uncorking it and pushing its opening to his blowhole, carefully sucking in its air to ease his lungs, his breath meter refilling. Hopefully the remaining two bottles were going to be enough, leaving a dungeon - or drowning in it - would reset everything in it if he didn't finish it. Determined to get his powerful upgrade and see more of one of his favorite virtual worlds, he pressed on.
