Sinktember 2025 30 - Free space (Endless) (+short story)

"Submerged snuggles"

Sni-tii's got a pretty big lizard friend that loves the idea of being underwater, but the poor guy's always had a problem: His body is way too buoyant, and he can't swim well enough to go fully under! But, meeting up with him again and explaining her relatively new power to him, the two got an idea...

Getting to a pool, Sni-tii turned the lizard into a water-filled pool toy, significantly raising his weight... And drastically lowering his buoyancy! With that, he was finally able to go fully underwater and stay there, and Sni-tii joined him, wrapping herself around his newly squishy body as the two relaxed on the bottom of the shallow end. The lizard would probably be cool with going deeper soon, but for now, just submerging at all was enough.

squirtlerocks07 and I did an RP based on this.

S: one day, a relatively big lizard was at a pool, now this guy loves the idea of being underwater, but he always had a problem, he is too buoyant to be able to go fully under and hes not the greatest swimmer either, but today he has no idea that his dream of submerging was gonna come true. As of now he was sitting down somewhere spacious and was crying a little because of his problem of not being able to go underwater

L: At first there isn't anyone else around, but soon a female feral snake arrives, heading toward the water for a swim... Before she notices the lizard. After a moment of consideration, she slithers over to him. "Hey, um... Are you okay?"

S: the lizard hears the snake's voice, opening his teary eyes before looking down at her

"Oh, hey... no, im not really ok... im sad, you see the size of me? I always wanted to go underwater, but I cant because of too buoyant and im a bad swimmer... and I dont know if im ever gonna be able to experience what its like to be underwater"

L: "That really sucks, being underwater is great... I can actually help though! This'll sound like I'm making it up, but I swear it's true: I have magic that can make people into different materials, I could turn you into something heavy with it."

S: "What?!" the lizard wipes away his tears for a moment
"That actually sounds kind of far-fetched, but if its true, I may be finally able to submerge after all!"

L: "Trust me, it's real! Watch, I'll do it to myself." The snake taps herself with her tail, and suddenly turns to wood while still being able to move. "Basically anything you can imagine, I can turn someone into."

S: "Whoa what the?!" The lizard was pretty shocked to find this out
"Wow, you definitely weren't kidding, thats pretty awesome! So you can really turn me into something heavy so I could finally experience being underwater?"

L: "Yep, I could turn you into stone or something so you can sink! It does kind of tire me out to make someone something hard if I keep it up for a long time, but I don't mind doing it for you. Anything in particular you'd want to try being?" The snake reverts to normal.

S: "Hmm... well I don't wanna tire you out so, maybe something like a water filled pooltoy? I'm sure that can work right?"

L: "That'd actually work better, I can do that." The snake taps the lizard with her tail, and he turns to transparent rubber, a valve appearing on the end of his tail! Sure enough, he's even full of water, and he'd already be able to feel his increased weight.

"And, there you go! How do you feel?"

S: "Whoa" The lizard had to find his balance with the added weight

"This is...weird, but I kind of like it, I really look like a pooltoy! Wow... only one thing left to do, try it out in the water and see if I sink!"

he gets out some goggles and puts them over his eyes

"Never thought I would ever get to use these, thank goodness I bought them!"

L: The snake gets some goggles of her own on as well. "Just keep in mind, you still need to breathe air. I don't know why or where the air goes when you breathe it in, that's just how this works for some reason."

S: "Oh um, right ill remember that, by the way i dont think i asked for your name, I'm Henry, pleased to meet you"

L: "I'm Sni-tii, it's nice to meet you too. Now, how about you hop into the pool and see if this works? I'll be right there with you."

S: "Alright... ill admit I am a tiny bit nervous but im mainly excited! Lets do this"

The lizard then heads to the shallow part of the pool before getting in, he could probably go under if he lays down but he waits for Sni-tii to come

L: Sni-tii gets into the water as well, keeping her head above the surface. "Ready whenever you are!"

S: "Ok, here goes..."

taking a deep breath in case this works, the lizard lays down in the water and sure enough he's able to sink underwater! Now resting at the bottom of the shallow end laying down the lizard has a clear expression of excitement on his face

L: Sni-tii smiles, then takes a deep breath and joins Henry underwater. "Yoblu're finally dobling it! Hblow's it feel to ble underwater at last?"

S: The lizard looks around for a moment before getting himself comfortable, a big puffy cheeked smile on his face

"Thblis is sblo ablwesome!! It fbleels evblen bettbler thblen I thblought it wblas gblonna be! I lblove iblt!"

L: "Perfect! I cabln keep this up abls long as you wablnt, so just relax." Sni-tii wraps herself around Henry in a hug.

S: "Thblank yblou, foblr mablking my drbleam comble trblue" Henry smiles even more as he hugs Sni-tii back, closing his eyes and just enjoying his time submerged, tiny bubbles leaving his nostrils

L: "No worrblies." Sni-tii closes her eyes as well, letting a few little bubbles slip away.

S: for a little while, both Sni-tii and Henry lay there in the quietness of being underwater, until eventually Henry's face turns red, since this was his first ever real breath hold he wasnt good right away, letting out a quiet grunt of strain as well

L: Hearing that grunt, Sni-tii opens her eyes to check on Henry. "Are you dobling okay? Remember not tblo push yourself, this ibls about hblaving fun."

S: Henry opens his eyes

"Soblrry, thblis is my fblirst tiblme brbleath hblolding... sblo I gbluess im nblot thblat gblood at iblt yblet, I shblould probably gblet soblme aiblr...thblis tingbling in my lublngs hublrts, hblopefully ovblertime ill gblet betblter at endbluring it"

L: "It takes soblme getting used to, yeblah. I'm lucky I cabln hblold my breath a reblally long time... Let's sublrface for now."

S: Henry nods before getting up and gasping for air when his head breeched the surface

"Reguardless of time, that was incredible, im so happy I finally got to experience being submerged!"

L: Sni-tii just exhales, barely having even started blushing yet. "Me too, I'm really glad I could help you with this! In the future, you should look into getting a weight belt, that might also help you dive when I'm not around."

S: "A weight belt...right, yeah I should probably look into that, but...I dont know if theres gonna be a weight belt for my size, im kind of big after all"

L: "You might be able to make one with a bunch of rocks and some string or rope... But just holding a big rock could work as well, basically anything to weigh you down."

S: "Hmm, ok ill have to do that then, anyways, lets go for another dive! I think I wanna try going deeper this time!"

L: "Sounds good! I always find it more fun to be deeper underwater, even though I'm kind of awful at swimming. How about we go all the way to the bottom of the deep end?"

S: "Sounds like a plan to me! And dont worry im pretty bad at swimming too but I make it work"

L: "Alright, at least I'm not the only one. Meet you down there!" Sni-tii takes a deep breath before beginning to slither deeper, going underwater.

S: nodding, Henry takes a deep breath and moves over to sink deeper, now able to as he slowly goes down towards the bottom of the deep end

L: Sni-tii gets to the bottom before too long, a couple dozen feet down. She coils herself up as she waits for Henry to join her.

S: Henry eventually gets to the bottom, standing on it before sitting down next to Sni-tii and smiling at her, letting a few bubbles loose

L: Sni-tii smiles back. "Pretty nice plblace, hbluh? Sometimes I like gobling to the bottom oblf a pool just tblo think for a while, niblce and quiet down hblere."

S: "I ablgree...I miblght havble to ublse thblis as my oblwn thblinking spablce too, its veblry peacbleful"

L: "And that should hblelp you practice hblolding your breath too, so thblat works out pretty webll!"

L: "I could probably hblelp you out with thblat sometime if you wablnt, but for now wble should just focubls on relaxing."

S: "Thblanks, I woulbld veblry mucblh apprbleciate thblat, bublt ybleah leblts jublst reblax"

Henry rests his head on Sni-tii's body and closes his eyes to rest

L: Getting an idea as he does so, Sni-tii turns herself into a plush to make for a better pillow for him, then closes her eyes to relax as well.

S: Henry notices how much more comfortable he is but doesnt say anything, just relaxing in the moment

L: Sni-tii keeps mostly still for Henry, though as the dive goes on she occasionally looks at him for a moment to check how he's doing.

S: his face was turning red again after a bit, but this time hes able to ignore it with how relaxed he is

L: Sni-tii smiles at how much better Henry is already doing, as she's starting to get just the tiniest blush herself.

S: as time goes on, Henry is already staying underwater longer then before, it seems the deeper waters are helping him stay even more calm then before, even when his face goes fully red and grunts in strain

L: This time, Sni-tii doesn't remind Henry to get air, wanting to let him decide on his own. She does plan on telling him if he starts going too far, but for now she just stays relaxing with him.

S: Henry decided right then and there to push himself a little as the time continues on, he hugs Sni-tii to stay comfortable as his face goes blue

L: Quickly realizing his intent, Sni-tii hugs Henry back, trying to help him keep calm while he still can.

S: more time passes and now Henry's face is purple, now getting nervous he opens his eyes to look at Sni-tii worringly, whining as he looks up at the surface, wanting to go up

L: Sni-tii's face is just about fully red now herself. "Looks like itbl's time to go bablck up... Hblere, this should mablke it quick!" She reverts Henry back to normal, assuming his natural buoyancy will get him to the surface.

S: and sure enough, his body immediately shoots up towards the surface with how buoyant his body is, and within seconds he comes back to the surface and gasps heavily for air, coughing a little as he catches his breath

L: Sni-tii gasps a bit as well when she surfaces with him, since she'd still been holding him, and turns herself to normal too. "Are you okay? I can tell that was the longest you've ever held your breath."

S: after catching his breath, Henry finally speaks up

"Y-yeah im good, man that was such a long breath hold! I dont know how long that was but it felt like forever! Definitely done with being submerged for a while tho, my lungs are so tired"

L: "I think that might have been about... 20 minutes or so? You did great! But yeah, I think it'd be best to rest for a while now so your lungs can recover."

S: "20 minutes?!? My goodness! Thats a long time, and im probably gonna get better with time. Anyways how about we find a cozy spot and relax for a while, you know when I hugged you, you felt like a cozy plush toy, im assuming that your changing ability and all so, maybe you can keep your plush self going while I sleep?"

L: "Yep, I'd made myself a plush during that. I'm up for a nap myself, so sure, I'll go plush again for that." Sni-tii turns herself back into a plush.

S: "Thanks Sni-tii, your a real pal!"

and so the both of them get out of the pool and find a cozy spot to relax again, with Henry hugging Sni-tii like he would a stuffed animal and smiles before drifting off to sleep with her
