"No backing out"

On one pretty cool day, Lenn happened to meet up with Lugia while exploring the ocean in his feral form! Lugia was on their way to a cave deep in the ocean, and decided to let Lenn follow them there... And Lenn took that as an opportunity to impress them. When Lugia offered to give Lenn air along the way and block the water pressure from hurting him, he boasted that he could probably get all the way there on a single breath, and handle the water pressure just fine as well. After both of them refilled at the surface, they started on the way down.

Gradually, Lenn began to get unsure he'd actually be able to pull this off. The water pressure was getting painful, and his lungs were starting to burn... But he'd said he could do this, he'd look like a moron if he had to back out! He was determined to keep going, even as he gained a purple blush and Lugia telepathically repeated their offer to help. He was IN the cave, he could do this...

I'm sure Lugia's got enough experience to be able to tell when Lenn's about to drown... And with the telepathic connection they've got going, Lugia's gonna hear Lenn's countdown to drowning as well.

squirtlerocks07 and I did an RP based on this.

S: down underwater, the guardian of the sea themselves, Lugia, was heading down to a cave down pretty deep in the ocean, he knows he can make it down without any issues so he goes to start his descent down towards it

L: And not too far away, a feral dolphin with markings that make it sort of look like he's wearing goggles is also swimming down to have a look around. When he happens to notice Lugia, he almost gasps in surprise and excitedly swims over to them.

"Hi! Can't believe I just happened across you, Lugia!"

S: Lugia turns over and sees the feral dolphin, he smiles a little and then looks at the interesting markings on the dolphin's face

"Well hello there little dolphin, its nice to bump into someone aquatic thats actually intelligent for once, what's your name my friend?"

L: "I'm Lenn! It's really cool to meet you! It sort of looked like you were heading somewhere when I first saw you, what are you doing?"

S: "Very nice to meet you too Lenn. Ah, I'm heading down pretty deep underwater to a long cave system, its one of my many homes scattered across the ocean"

L: "Oh, cool! Can I come with you? I'd really like to see the sort of place you live in, and don't worry about me, I can hold my breath plenty of time."

S: "Hmm...well a companion would be pretty nice to have, if you're truly sure you can hold your breath fine then I suppose you can join me, I can give you air if you need it and ill make sure the water pressure doesnt hurt you since its pretty far down"

a few tiny bubbles escape lugia's mouth

L: "Nice! I can handle water pressure well, so that should be fine, and I doubt I'm gonna end up needing air from you. Lead the way!"

S: "Ok, well the offer still stands if you chance your mind, follow me then, by the way, those are some cool markings you've got there, they look like swim goggles"

Lugia then starts his descend down deeper in the water, expecting Lenn to follow him

L: Lenn does indeed follow. "Yeah, I was just born with those. I like them, and a bunch of people have said they look cute too."

S: Lugia chuckles out some bubbles as he causally swims down
"Well they are certainly not wrong, you do look cuter with that"

L: "I've also got a neat ability, I can change between this form and an anthro one. It kind of takes a while, but there's no other limits to it, and it's really useful."

S: "Oh really? Well you certainly get more and more interesting the more I talk to you, not in a bad way of course, but I think we're gonna be good friends"

the descent continues, Lugia now starting to get just a tiny little blush on his face since he's already been down here for a bit

L: Lenn is starting to blush a little too, since his breath holding ability is nowhere near as good as Lugia's. Still, he's determined to ignore his need to breathe and keep going, enjoying swimming alongside the legendary.

S: as the dive continues, the waters start to dim a little, and Lugia knows that they are close to the cave, and sure enough they get to the entrance of it, smiling at Lenn as he was pleasantly surprised at how well he was doing

"Alright, here's the cave entrance, how you holding up so far? You want a breather?"

L: "No thanks, I'm still doing okay. I'll just refill from whatever air pockets you've got set up in there, I'm sure there'll be at least one."

S: "Yeah, there's only one but its pretty far away, as i said I can happily give you air if you need it, but for now lets head inside"

Lugia then swims into the cave

L: Lenn follows them in. His blush is slowly getting bigger, but he tries his best to hide his strain, wanting to do what he can to impress Lugia.

S: as Lugia and Lenn continue to swim forward, eventually Lugia turns to look at Lenn who seems to be struggling, growing concerned that he won't make it to the far away air pocket

"Are you sure you're gonna be ok? I really don't mind giving you some air"

L: Lenn shakes his head. "I-I'm fine, don't worry about me..." He's got a fully red face by now, beginning to tint blue just a little, but he still looks determined to keep going.

S: "Ok, you're starting to worry me a little bit tho..."

Lugia then pushes forward, they were a little over halfway there to the air pocket, his own face flushing a bit more so its finally visible

L: Lenn's face eventually is fully blue, and he's starting to let out little whines as he continues swimming, yet even now he doesn't ask for air.

S: Lugia was surprised at how far Lenn was willing to push himself, but he continues to not say anything for now as the swim continues

L: And after more swimming, Lenn's face ends up purple, and he pauses to cover his mouth and blowhole with his flippers, whimpering and shivering a little as bubbles trickle away.

S: they were still a good 5 minutes away from the air pocket, and now Lugia gets even more concerned, immediately he blows a bubble and hands it to Lenn

"Please, take my air! I only wanna help! You're not gonna make it!"

L: Even now, Lenn still refuses for a moment. "N-no, I c-can do it..." Just a moment after, he bursts out a cloud of bubbles before quickly gasping down the bubble Lugia had given him. His blush goes mostly away from that, but now is partly from embarrassment.

S: "Goodness me, you didn't have to push yourself like that... you really scared me, please don't do that again ok?"

Lugia gives Lenn a hug, clearly worried about him

L: "S-sorry, I really thought I could make it in one breath..." Lenn hugs them back.

"I must look kind of dumb, being so overconfident like that..."

S: "A little, but I'm honestly kind of used to seeing others push themselves, but this time around I wasn't about to watch someone drown in front of me... lets just get to the air pocket, it shouldnt be too much longer"

after petting Lenn, Lugia starts swimming again, he's even holding one of Lenn's flippers, being a little protective over him now

L: Lenn smiles and swims with Lugia again, more relaxed now that he's not feeling any need to prove himself to them.

S: "I'll admit I'm impressed you made it that far tho, most dolphins would give up"

eventually they got to the air pocket and one of lugia's homes deep in this cave

L: "Oh, this is it, right?" Lenn swims up to surface into the air pocket and breathe.

S: "Yep!"

Lugia surfaces in it too, gasping a little for air

"Welcome to one of my cozy little cave homes"

L: "This is really cool! I'll start working on going anthro so I can properly explore..." Lenn starts to faintly glow as he looks around.

S: "I remember you told me that it takes a while until you change forms, hopefully its not too long tho"

L: "It's not an eternity at least, but it does take about half an hour. Hope that's not an issue."

S: "Half an hour huh? Well, I guess ill be fine waiting that long"

now we fast forward a whole half hour later

L: Throughout that time, Lenn's glow very slowly gets brighter. At the half hour mark, there's a flash and Lenn has become anthro!

"Alright, done!" He climbs out of the water.

S: Lugia looks up at Lenn in his anthro form, smiling as he did

"Interesting, so this is what anthro dolphins look like, ill have to admit, it looks really cool!"

L: "I've always been really happy about it, I didn't start out this way. I used to just be a feral dolphin, but I got some kind of magic in me that lets me do this!"

S: "Magic? Hmm, thats even more interesting, but thats really neat, I guess whenever your ready we can head down and I can show you around"

L: "Yep, I'm good to go whenever you are. And I'm gonna make sure to actually ASK for air if I need it this time."

S: "Good, cause I don't wanna see you push yourself anymore then you have to, it may be good practice but were keeping things casual here. Come on down then when your ready"

Lugia takes a single deep breath and dives back underwater, waiting for Lenn to join

L: After a bit of preparing, Lenn dives down as well. "Alright, ready to get going again."

S: "Sounds good, come with me then"

Lugia then swims around his cave home to show Lenn around, it looked really nice, definitely something to expect from a legendary pokemon

L: "This is such a cool place... Kind of wish I lived somewhere like this. Maybe with a few more places to get air though."

S: "I have some cave homes that have more air pockets in them, in case I don't feel like holding my breath that day or whatever. Where do you currently live tho?"

L: "I live in a beachfront house that's maybe a few miles from here. Pretty convenient when I want to go swimming, which I obviously pretty often do."

S: "Nice, I'm sure you have a nice home as well"

Lugia thinks for a moment before responding

"How do you feel about having a 2nd home underwater when you don't feel like surfacing? Maybe you can live in one of my cool cave homes that has plenty of air in them? I'll even make sure you take the home i most likely go into as well so you have some company"

L: "Woah, for real!? That'd be awesome! Yeah, I'd totally be down for living in one of these, especially with it meaning I can see you more often!"

S: Lugia chuckles and pets Lenn some

"Well alright then, ill be nice to have a roommate thats aquatic like me, I'll show you where you can live in later, for now how about we relax for a while hmm? I'm not planning on leaving here for a while so make yourself at home!"

L: "Yeah, may as well hang out here for a bit after all it took to get here. Believe me, I'm not gonna be coming this way again without you being around..."

S: "Hehe, you know I'm starting to really enjoy your company Lenn, lets be great friends!"

and so Lugia finds a spot to lay down and just relax for a while, tiny bubbles leaving his nostrils, even closing his eyes to fully calm down
