Character Sheet for Blunder
Nickname(s)
Sage of the Swamp, The Nameless Sage (Formerly), Old No-Eyes (Scorn), Nail (Former Name)
Character Description
Blunder is an elderly, blind former leader of the Outcasts. Though he has stepped down due to his old age, his word still holds immense weight within the tribe. Having saved many of the Outcasts from starvation and harsh conditions, his guidance is often regarded as law, and the respect he commands remains deeply ingrained in the group. In many tribes, it's customary to leave the elderly to venture into the wilderness alone to preserve resources for the young. However, most of the Outcasts refused to let Blunder follow this tradition, as he was the closest thing to a parent most of them had. (Kibosh being the only one who didn't care)

Background/History
Backstory: Blunder was not born an outcast, nor was he born a leader of misfits.
Betrayal: Once, he was Nail, a proud warrior of the Bone Eaters, a brutal and disciplined tribe where strength was the only currency that mattered. But betrayal has a way of forging new paths. It was his own blood, his younger brother Skewer, who tore his life apart. Skewer framed Nail for the murder of a fellow tribesman, twisting the truth so thoroughly that even Nail’s own pack turned against him. Death was the sentence, but Skewer—perhaps out of some warped sense of mercy—offered Nail a single chance: run. And so he ran.
Spurn: With nothing but the breath in his lungs and the blood on his hands, Nail fled into the swamps beneath the highlands, a no man’s land where the great river slowed to a disease-ridden crawl. It was a place of decay, where the weak rotted and the strong were consumed by things even more wretched than they. But in that forsaken land, he found something unexpected. A girl—small, scarred, and hidden in the shadows—watching him with sharp, distrusting eyes. She never spoke, only glared, and it was then that he realized the truth: she was hiding her fur, the telltale pink of a hybrid. A child cast out, just as he was. He named her Spurn. At first, she only tolerated him. But as the days turned to weeks, as they scavenged together, fought together, and survived together, she became something more—his first real bond since losing everything. She looked up to him, not just as a protector, but as something more. A father figure. And Nail, now Nameless, cherished her in return. Seasons passed, and their haven grew.
Scorn: One day, while scouring the outskirts of the swamp, the Nameless and Spurn found another lost soul. A boy, half-buried in snow, barely breathing. His body was thin, and when food was placed before him, he attacked it—not out of hunger, but as if he despised the act of eating itself. He wanted to waste away. Nameless saw that hatred and named him Scorn. It was a battle to keep the boy alive, but Blunder never wavered. In time, Scorn ate. In time, he lived.
Family: And then came another. A boy with horns. Then a girl with a long, blue tail. Then a girl covered in blue scales. A boy with four arms. A boy with massive golden arms. And then more—always more, though few stayed. Some were too afraid of being in a group, afraid that a gathering of outcasts would only make them easier prey. But Nameless was never disheartened. He welcomed all, whether they stayed a night or a lifetime. He had lost a family, but he had built something greater—a refuge, a home, a tribe.
Revelation: Then came the truth. One evening, after years of leading his misfits, Nameless finally told them his story—of the Bone Eaters, of Skewer, of his exile. That was when he saw it, the way Scorn’s eyes narrowed, the way his mind worked through the pieces, and then the words came: “That doesn’t add up.” Scorn laid it bare, unraveling the lie that Blunder had clung to for so long. The truth was undeniable, blinded by his love for his younger brother. He had been betrayed, not just by his pack, but by his own blood.
Acceptance: The Nameless Sage could have wept, could have cursed the years he had spent blind to the truth. But instead, he sat quietly, thinking, before finally saying, with quiet conviction: "If clarity meant I would have never met all of you… I would make the same blunder a hundred times over... I am Blunder" For he had lost everything once. And in doing so, he had gained something far greater. The Outcasts were his, and he was theirs.
Note: Blunder was able to figure out the ingredients of the elixir that stops mental degeneration in hybrids, though it does not repair damage.
