My gosh but tree branches are hard to draw! I made the mistake of drawing the character first, then drawing the tree around him (never again! lol) D:
Anyway...
I promised some BtrfyFx so ...here he is. ^^
Now, before we go over the comic (as if it's that complicated!), I have an important note to make...
I'm changing BtrfyFx's name! D:
But worry not---I'll still use the 'btrfyfx' tag. Moreover, his name isn't changing THAT significantly. Getting to the point, I'm changing the name to...
'Btrfy Fox'
Yeah. Two words now (I was camelling the letters to begin with, so that's logical), and I'm adding a vowel because 'Fx' wasn't pronounceable (I was pronouncing it as 'Fix', which is a different word entirely ...isn't autism grand?).
Oh my! Seems Btrfy Fox has found a little yellow bird on the forest floor. It must have fallen from its nest.
Now, we know Btrfy Fox will not eat the little bird, for Btrfy doesn't eat any creature he could (hypothetically) have a conversation with (it's his personal rule).
Oh, but the nest is so very far from the ground. Sigh!
To make climbing the tree possible, Btrfy Fox places the little bird atop his head ...much could go wrong (I'll leave this to the reader's imagination), but it's worth the risk.
After a tedious climb, Btrfy Fox has reached the nest. Btrfy carefully removes the bird from his head to place it in the nest, but... what's this? The little bird flies away (like a bat out of heck)! D:
Perhaps the bird was fine from the beginning? Seems the lesson here (if there is one) is it's best to leave little things be (most of the time).
Either way, it's the thought that counted here, Btrfy Fox---you're a good boy! lol
Pencil...
The featured pencil is the 'Yellow Bird' from Mitsubishi Pencil Co. Contrary to what you may think, the 'Yellow Bird' isn't a coloring pencil. The core of the 'Yellow Bird' is just graphite (there's also a 'Blue Bird' version, but I've not yet found one available for purchase). :3
The other side of the 'Yellow Bird' pencil reads,
"General Writing / HB"
The pencil has a 'JIS' (Japanese Industrial Standards) stamp, signifying that this pencil is of premium quality. The 'JIS' stamp was discontinued in 2008, so this pencil was made before then (though I cannot say what its precise vintage is).
The name has two origins. I used to condense my file names by removing vowels and redundant consonants, ie., 'ButterflyFox' would be 'BtrfyFx' ...and that's what I did for a random scribble of a fox with some butterflies. :P
The fox got some attention, and the only name I could come up with (when asked) was the file: BtrfyFx. :P
Later, I wrote a story about the character. He had a baby bunny for a while, and she pronounced 'butterfly' as 'btrfy' ...again, I have autism---it made sense (to me) when I wrote it! XD
Thx. <3 I kinda do it as 'Bee'ter'fy'. The name has two origins. I used to condense my file names
Oh no! The return of the Tilapia eating Butterfly! I was hoping he'd return someday! :D
So this pencil was of High Quality. That's good to know. I'll also have to remember not to get any before 2008 as their quality cannot be accurately verified without that stamp. :D
Also that IS some high quality printing and type on that pencil. They really took pride in their work for sure!

The first step in bird recovery is to leave the bird somewhere obvious the parents should see it and see if they come to tend to it. Don't fix what might not be broken. Only then can you look for a nest, and if one isn't available, take your bird to a wildlife rescue.
I second this. Chances are the mother is close by watching everything happen. Once you touch a baby bird, the mother may never want it again. Cruel, but that's mother nature. While it'll go against every fiber in a sane person... you must let things be. If you really want to help, stand by out of the way and wait for the mother to come back. If the mother sees the baby and ignores it, then you intervene and try to find it help by way of an animal rescue.
Mother Nature... you cruel! ;3

Fortunately, most birds will still accept a baby even if it's been touched: https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/fact-or-fict... The myth largely arose as a way to stop people messing about when they didn't need to though, so maybe it should be spread.
Quokkas though... they just yeet that baby at anything.

The story, the emotions, are nicely and clearly conveyed, the background, while simple, looks really well (and the branches are splendid as well). The lines are clean and consistent.
(*look down at the picture I was drawing*) Shoot, now, mine looks way worse :[ (*a little sting of envy that I can't draw as cute cartoons; oh, well.*)
- BtrfyFx... I always read it as "ButterfryFox" anyway ^^ (yes, I know there's no 'r' before the 'y', but it just rolls off the tongue better. Dunno why 'r' instead of 'l' though, as "butterfly" was indeed closer than "butterfry". Probably because there are no vowels written, so my eyes copied over the previous 'r'?)
Looks great! The story, the emotions, are nicely and clearly conveyed, the background, while simple
You'll form bad habits you'll never be able to break and rob yourself of any artistic potential. If you want to draw well, then take some IRL courses (SkillShare doesn't count). Draw nudes; fruit on a table; some orchids; farmhouses with trees ...then, eventually, after many many drawings of nudes sitting on tables with fruit and flowers in a farmhouse, you'll succeed. :3
DO. NOT. DO. WHAT. I. DO. OR. HOW. I. DO. IT. You'll form bad habits you'll never be able to break
That sounds completely irrelevant to what Im trying to create. The fact is youve created far more comics at much higher levels of competence than me. Its really that simple. I envy your ability to create comics with all these complex posings and here even some good environments. Whatever "bad habits" I pick up will still be a vast improvement over my comics.
