Anyways, today's ACO subject is Eugene the Genie from Hanna-Barbera's 'Paw Paws' series.
The Paw Paws were Smurf-sized, Native-American-inspired bears trying to live peacefully in their village ...despite the schemes of their enemies: the Meanos and the Greedy Greenies (I swear Hanna-Barbera had some of the worst ideas for names). :P
Eugene the Genie was a side character from the show.
The featured pencils are in their original wrapper. Granted, the wrapper is off-center, but likely so is the art it's featured with (so kudos for consistency). I chose to feature this pencil three-pack because genies grant three wishes. :P
The pencils are 'Integrity' models from Empire Pencil Co. These were sold three for fifteen cents. This package is probably from the 1960s or thereabouts (based on logo and pricing).
Not sure what I expected, you did show me this before uploading it though.
Foxy knows! ;-)
Tell me about obsessions... (aspie/autism too)
Never watched enough of the show to know about him.
People are pretty hard on Hanna-Barbera. They had a lot of entertaining shows. I would say pretty much all of their cute gang of critters shows were not great but decent enough for the intended target audience by the standards that applied back then. I don't recall ever seeing something truly awful from the studio.
Ah. :-)
Checking right now. - EDIT: typical kids show randomness, the lamp just happens to be in a tree stump! - LOL
Tbh, those pencils don't really look that interesting, but to each his own! :-)
