Because of its hook, I had to paste the pencil in digitally (otherwise, the paper would overlap and obscure it).
Also (while I was at it) I brightened the fur and removed a small bit of dust here and there. It was slow going, but cathartic ...until the phrase 'polishing shit' came to mind, thereby sapping away my serenity. :(
Anyway, it seems Mimi is having a Christmas party. Everyone's been invited, of course, but Mimi's focus is presently on Gene. Let's see what happens...
MIMI: "Gene, we just happen to be under mistletoe---per tradition, you're supposed to kiss me"
GENE (cunning): "You got me, Mimi, But you'll have to close your eyes!"
[Gene riffles through his magical hat of mystery]
GENE (thinking): "I know it's in here somewhere... Ah!"
[Gene has removed a tilapia from his hat]
GENE (thinking): "Kiss this, Mimi!"
[a tilapia-hunting butterfly swoops down and snatches Gene's tilapia away]
GENE (thinking): "No! You promised!"
[Mimi steadily grows impatient]
GENE (thinking): "Well, I'm all out of tricks; I'll have to do it! Here goes!"
[Mimi suddenly gives to her impatience]
MIMI: "I get it---you're going to keep me waiting forever! Just say you don't want to kiss next time!"
[Gene breathes a sigh of relief; he is safe (for now...)]

The answer to the first and most important is: No. No, I have not forgotten Tasli's Treat. I'm just trying to finish up all my Christmas stuff while there's still some December left.
The answer to the second is: Maybe. Maybe someday Mimi will get what she wants from Gene, outside the Land of Dreams ^^
The answer to the third is: Yes. Yes, I do like tilapia, and may have a chance to get some this afternoon (time will tell---updates will come with the next upload).

Pencil...
The featured pencil is a Japanese-made specimen of unknown vintage, boasting peppermint stripes and a candy-cane topper. The pencil is named 'Romance', for reasons unknown (to me). ^^
I didn't use this pencil to draw today's cartoon, but I did use the pencil to sign it. :3
