I drew this yesternight, but bedtime came a-calling before I could upload it (so here's my HNY comic late ...and no better for it). ^^
Seems we're in need of a Baby New Year ...let's see who'll play the role!
MIMI (flirty): "It's a new year, Gene! The Artist needs a Baby New Year, so you'll have to wear this sash---and only this sash!"
GENE: "Nuh-uh! It's the Year of the Rabbit---you have to be the baby! You wanna get naked or shall I find a fresh diaper for you?"
TASLI (titillated): "Ooo! Murr!"
MIMI (annoyed; discarding the sash): "You know, I may've done it if not for your taunting attitude---now it's not happening!"
GENE (pleased with himself): "I guess we're stuck with an old year, eh, Tasli?"
TASLI (annoyed): "...Bruh"
Gene was certainly oblivious to the feelings of his friends here, but none of us can be awesome all the time (don't worry: such setbacks only make Mimi more determined, and Tasli will be over it in an hour ...maybe two).
And, no, Tasli isn't attracted to Mimi per se, though (unlike Gene) Tasli is hetero (and Mimi is cute in her way). ^_^
Perhaps if Mimi had included a top hat to go with the sash, Gene may've been more open to humoring her (but, alas, we'll never know).
HYPOTHETICALWATCHER: "Mimi naked!? Yes please! Or in a diaper!? Absolutely! When are we getting a follow-up to this?"

Pencil...
The featured pencil is the 'Herald' by Eagle Pencil Co (circa 1930s or so).
The 'Herald' is fairly uncommon, and this specimen (alas!) has the initials of a previous owner carved into it. :p
I had a chance to get a ferruleless, unpainted 'Herald' a year or two ago ...but a misunderstanding between myself and the seller caused that to fall through (and got me banned from their eBay store). :p
