This will change the art community without doubt...
I mean.. look at those!
They have been generated with Stable Diffusion: https://stability.ai/blog/stable-diffusion-public-release It was version 1.2 as far as I remember. That is a neuronal network software that has in a way learned from the vast internet how art works and you can run it on your local computer (unlike the two major competitors Dall-E and MidJourney) for free.
You provide it with a prompt, in this case "vaporeon deep underwater" and it produces things like the ones above (some other prompts involved "dolphin", "dragon", "cave" and "coral").
While it does not seem to know what a vaporeon as a whole is, it produces lots of cute, blue critters with fins >w<
It only took me 10 minutes to install and learn the basics of how to use this software (someone made a handy GUI for the tool) and it generates an image every 10-20 seconds on my mid-range Gaming PC (RTX 3060 Ti 8GB). Only downside for now is resolution as that is limited by VRAM. My 8GB only suffice for 576x576 pixels. Am tempted to grab a computationally weaker 3060 with 12 Gb just for this, lol.
In the end only ~10% of the produced images are reasonably good, but you can just leave it run for an hour and then filter from several hundreds.
The software is out of the box not suited for NSFW art but it's only out for a few days and some people on Pixiv already got crafty with human nudity...
So yeah, this will surely not replace the vast majority of artists, as for the moment it's best suited for inspirational one-off art and for landscapes, backgrounds etc, but it's only the first properly usable generation after all.
Oh wow that's cool o: Did you provide it a descriptive prompt of a character (I haven't had much success with those unfortunately) or was it semi random on something short like mine?

Haha, nah, those are rather bad at consistently replicating a character it has made up. And it definitely does not have a sense for what underwater peril means X3

I guess its not a bad program for random ideas and poses, but I guess nothing beats IRL ones (The artist or a willing friend) or just do what I do for poses and use JustSketch.me, still not going back to uni though, this sense of shoving whats important for profit in my face takes the fun out of being creative :(

i am kind of interested in seeing where that goes. you think its worth getting? i wouldnt post the ai generated art i get but i could use it for making inspired character designs. the first one there looks kinda cute. and all of these were ai generated? im curious as to what it could do if all the pokemon were put into it in future updates to the generator.
i mean, do you like using it? you think its worth it?

What do you mean by worth it? Donating is voluntarily for the GUI tool and Stable Diffusion itself is open source. You do need to have good hardware though. Something with 8Gb Vram is really recommended.
Yes, those were all AI generated and unedited. It is good for inspiration, I would say and it's fun to use. What it cannot really do is reproduce the same character again though (in a different pose etc.).
Pokemon and other copyrighted material is probably not gonna end up in those generators at a sufficient amount to allow to reproduce the original since especially Nintendo is known for taking things to court when their IP is possibly infringed. Those systems are "multipurpose". They have been trained with huge amounts of varying data so they do not reproduce a specific thing but instead understood general concepts.

what i meant by "worth it" is do you think its good to use for personal projects, like giving an artist you commissioned an idea of a background or maybe even for your own personal use. do you think it could come up with a good char design for yourself or inspire you to add accessories or new things to a design perhaps using the ai generator? do you like using it? is it simple enough to use?
