"I'm going with him."
The first two are the card I drew for my sister's birthday in 2020. (Cover and interior.) I gave her $500 because I'm lousy at picking out gifts.

The following year, though, (2020) I had a brilliant idea. See, my sister likes to collect currency. She has a huge collection of old bills and foreign money. Nothing particularly valuable, but she enjoys it. Well, she had mentioned at one point that she would really love to get her hands on a $500 bill, but they've always been too expensive. So I got with our brother (Carlos) and dad and the three of us went in on a single $500 bill for her. At the time, that bill cost us $600... EACH! (Just to clarify the plea at the end of the second card interior. See, if she takes that bill to a bank, they will only give her face value for it...)

I also think it's interesting seeing the stylistic change in the same character over the course of one year...

Edit: Added her card outside/inside for 2022. I didn't have any ideas what to get her for her birthday, so I just made the card. Pickle's colors are so vibrant because that's the only way I could get them to print so they'd look like they do in most digital art.

DAMN!! That’s one hell of a gift! As a currency collector myself that stuff is almost as good as hitting a jackpot. They’re getting harder and harder to find!

KEEP THAT. while technically yes, its still legal tender and can be spent, as soon as it hits the Federal Reserve, its gonna get shredded. so keep that thing! its a piece of history!

It's true that she shouldn't take it to the bank, but sounds like it's a numismatic, so it might behoove her to take an occasional look at the market value of that bill. (after all, there's a reason you paid so much)

I'm not an expert, and it's really hard to say, but you guys might've gotten her something worth even more than you paid for it

Actual collector's usually don't sell their collections unless they're tight on money. It's not some sort of investment to them, not a way to make money.

This bill was bought from a pawn shop, so your first assessment was very likely true.

I just love how the $500 bill cost $600.

Does that really make any fucking sense to anyone?

Rare currency... Jeez.

Hold onto your hats, because he said $600 ...each, for the three of them. Which sounds to me like it cost $1800.

Supply & Demand. If they have the only supply, they can demand anything.

Seems silly, but there's rare items in even the oddest collecting worlds. I know, I'm in some of them.

The next trick is to find a $1000 bill... But those start at almost $3000 for one is as good condition as this $500 bill... I don't know if we love her THAT much.

You could also try to top it of with a 10.000 $ bill. ;-)
Last printed 1918. Inflation counted in that was like 200.000 $ today.
Less than 300 exist and it's now traded for 500.000 $.
