I just finished the first episode, with only an hour left of my medical leave. I'm glad I can post it before taking a shower and going back to work. It may not look like it, but these pages took a lot of work. I struggled over lots of tiny details there. I'm especially happy with the movie theater scene.

I finally got over the introduction of the characters and their relationship. Now I can start making stories with them.

Though this comic is fictional, a few situations are drawn from my personal experiences. I was very solitary as a young man. I used to go to the movies alone all the time. There was this theater that had retrospectives of old classic movies and I used to go every week. Sometimes they would play a series of silent movies like Metropolis and Nosferatu, or retrospectives of a director like Hitchcock or Cecil B. DeMille.

Later in life, I made a few friends with the same tastes and we would watch movies together and discuss them. The dynamic of the experience changes when you have others around you. This will continue to be explored in future stories.

Trivia: When designing the theater, I wanted to use as a model a real one, a few blocks from my childhood home. I checked my old country on Google Maps and found... an empty lot. It has been demolished. The theater in the comic is a combination of my memories and Art Deco references.

I have met a couple of people who become paranoid when they use cannabis. And I have myself gone through the experience of having someone guiding me with her voice while I was having a psychoactive experience. More on that too in future episodes.

I hope you enjoy it.

Does this protagonist not remember that the Christ hung out with the worst sinners and the lowlifes? On purpose? He is exactly where a follower of the example of Jesus should be, doing exactly what Jesus said to do.
The boy's a saint.

I must have missed the part where Jesus and his buddies watched movies stoned  ( ᐢ (oo) ᐢ )

But yes, he disapproves but doesn't judge. The question is, would he be as open-minded toward her lifestyle if he wasn't attracted to her?

It's almost a certainty, that if movies were around at the time, Jesus would've watched them with his zoned out buddies. He might not have partaken, but such people were those he had come to save, and he hung out with them.
If Our Hero was as much of a follower of Jesus as he wants to be, then the answer should be yes.
Jesus had his own groupies but no mention of anything sexual anywhere.  And those women were supposed to be actual whores. And then his encounter with the Samaritan woman at the well, which itself was fraught with non-PC behavior. Jesus had a mission, one greater than any cosmetic conern, and he clearly was not worried with carnal or political considerations (the traditions of men).

Maybe I should include that in the comic.
They could discuss what kind of movies Jesus would watch.

Saint Young Men would be on the list, at the least for self-roasting.
Jesus would probably get frustrated at The Exorcist, and irritated at The Ten Commandments.
He's likely smile in satisfaction at Dogma, and be horrified at Jesus Camp.

I suspect Jesus' favorite movie is Triple Cross

Nice play on the title.

The Jesus of the bible in modern times would probably be providing people at parties with some good weed. He made the strongest wine for the end of a wedding (which is normally the point where the wine is the most watered down to make the supply last longer).

It's coming along great. I like Brina's realistic relationship with drugs. I think what she described is pretty common.

Let's remember that Sherlock Holmes used a little snoot of cocaine to super-charge his detective brain.

I was looking forward to this and now I'm looking forward for more!! The characters feel so real, I guess the real life experiences you've had shine trough here. I can see the love and thought put into these pages!

They were lucky that the priest felt drowsy that day.

Love this project. Despite it not being sci-fi, adventure, or porn, it has my rapped attention.
