Ok, so not many appreciated my attempt at abstract art. That's fine (to each their own); I shall stick to drawing that which most watch me for: horrible cartoon sketches your 4-and-a-quarter-y/o cousin could draw better! :D
Anywhoo, the subject today is Scarlet Rose: a squirrel girl from 'Thomas Timberwolf' (TT). TT is a Flash-animated cartoon series from the early 2000's. I discovered the TT series today while looking for something else (so I dunno much about the series ...yet!).
For all the world, this looks like a Mitsu-Bishi pencil ...but it's not, at least insofar as I've been able to determine.
There are at least three inherently separate companies of similar names, that use the triple-diamond logo: one makes cars, another makes cider, and one makes pencils, etc., but (again) these have no affiliations with one another.
This Misaki Yamato pencil uses the triple-diamond logo on this 'Mitsu-Bishi' (3402) model pencil (here, 'Mitsu-Bishi' is simply the name of the pencil, not its maker).
Last, my guess to the vintage of this pencil would be pre-WWII. My guess comes from the fact this pencil lacks the 'circle-bolt' icon found on many post-WWII pencils (said icon was used until fairly recently). That said, the lack of the icon doesn't mean for certain this pencil is pre-WWII, as the icon was used to distinguish pencils of above-average quality (though, again, a great many brands boasted this mark).
Misaki Yamato is a fairly rare Japanese pencil brand. I've seen some other models, but this is the only one I've ever handled in-person; I'm blessed to have it. :3
