I thought I'd draw Kenny the Shark to show off my 'Goldfish' pencil by Shahsons Ltd. Shahsons is a Pakistani pencil brand which makes it somewhat unique in my collection. Also, unlike most pencils unfortunate enough to be featured alongside my art, the 'Goldfish' is still available for sale (at the time of this writing)! :D
*To be clear, it's $3 USD per pencil, not per pack (the photo is deceiving)
"The Goldfish Autocrat comes from Shahsons, Pakistan’s first pencil factory, founded in 1952. Originally sandalwood scented, this has always been the company’s flagship pencil. Though they’re no longer fragranced, the Goldfish is so famous that asking for a “scented pencil” at any stationery store in Pakistan will still result in one of these brown and gold HBs. And the name? It’s proof that not all pencil mistakes are worth erasing: the pencil was supposed to be called “Goldfish Aristocrat,” but was mistakenly printed “Autocrat.” Either way, we think it rules" -CW Pencil Enterprises
Ok, so about the subject: Kenny the Shark... where did this monstrosity come from!?
Kenny the Shark is the titular character from Discovery Kids's animated 'Kenny the Shark' (KtS) series.
The gimmick is Kenny is a pet tiger shark belonging to an odd (pre-teen?) girl named Kat.
Wikipedia described Kenny (the character) thus,
"A sarcastic tiger shark. He is a comical character with a happy-go-lucky attitude. He was tired of life in the ocean and he went to live on the surface, where he is able to walk on his tailfins and breathe air like humans. He can't control himself when he hears or sees a seal"
I've seen only one episode and had to watch it in two parts. :p
