I started to reject this sketch, as I'd drawn the subject a little too big for ACO ...but, somehow, I managed to keep it within the borders (albeit barely). I've been drawing 'bigger' lately ...which isn't good considering my choice of format. :p
Anyway, this is Touche Turtle: an old-school Hanna-Barbera character.
For whatever reason, Touche's dressed and armed like a musketeer despite living/operating within a modern city. ^^
I drew Touche via a Wallace Zephyr pencil and delineated him via a Wallace 'Gold Sabre' pencil.
I've mentioned before that my favorite pencil to draw with is the Zephyr by Wallace, so by extension I like Wallace pencils (right?). Issue is I haven't many Wallace specimens. ^^
As of writing, the only Wallace pencils I have are:
Zepyhr, Biggie, Swift, Brite-Tone, *Invader ...and most recently: the Gold Sabre! :D
*Wallace made the original Invader pencil, but when Wallace was bought out by Dixon in the the 1980's, all subsequent 'Invader' pencils (rightly) began carrying the Dixon name (and, yes, I have examples of both). :3
The Gold Sabre is aptly named as I was somehow able to *hone mine to a sharp, needlelike point, and it maintained this point throughout delineation (good, quality graphite here). This fact made my work a bit tedious (duller points are easier to work with as they are wider and don't dig into the paper as readily). Still, I was stubborn and proceeded with the sharp pencil.^^
*relax---I have several of these now; I sharpened only one. lol
