This is more of a quickie than a bona fide ACO, mostly because I didn't want to draw today, but even less so did I want to go two days without drawing ...so here's ...something (I guess). :p
This is Louie, a side character from Fritz Freleng's 'The Dogfather'.
I dunno much about this series; I've seen only two episodes, including the one linked above.
I don't think I drew Louie very well. Again, I didn't feel like drawing, but I also kinda suck at drawing suits (and as I drew Louie in an original pose for this card, I didn't have a 'drape' reference).
No one who watches me expects quality anyway. ^^
Ok, so... pencil!
This pencil is more interesting than the drawing, so let's lavish it with all the attention!
'The Brooks Company'?
I've managed to find images of vintage pencils wrapped in 'The Brooks Co' packaging, marked as coming from Cleveland (IMAGE): https://sta.sh/017i015dmw6o (Etsy; Pinterest)
This would suggest this pencil was made by The Brooks Company, but then I found this,
Company Number 282024 Status Dead Incorporation Date 25 June 1959 (about 62 years ago) Company Type CORPORATION FOR PROFIT Jurisdiction Ohio (US)
The Brooks Company apparently merged out of existence that same year (1959) in December.
Doesn't seem right (perhaps they failed to pay the Dogfather?) D:
Either way, I like this pencil, as well the bit of mystery surrounding it. :3
That said, mine is unsharpened and I plan to keep it that way, so I can say nothing of its *quality.
*see that little symbol between 'Company' and 'De'? I've seen it before on other pencils of different brands. I've seen other symbols, too. These could be a QC symbols, and/or or to represent a particular lot or date. I'm unsure, albeit, it seems to be used decoratively here.
The ferrule of this pencil is interesting: I've not seen one quite like it before, which is why I've scanned outside the bounds of the drawing a bit, so the ferrule could be seen.
