Yes, I've drawn Ding before. Yes, I know his full name (and it's unfortunate). Yes, I've deleted one of the drawings (I warned y'all!). Yes, I know I promised to draw Thundarr, as well as redraw Yoko (I'll do them when I do them).
Anyway...
This is Ding from Hanna-Barbera's 'Hokey Wolf' cartoons. Ding is Hokey's sidekick---an apprentice wolf if you will ...and has been since the 1960's. I'm sure Ding has learned a few things since then, hence he will be awarded with this 'Third School' pencil by Eberhard Faber. :3
There was a time long, long ago, when teachers could use pencils such as this to reward students, esp. for good penmanship. And what young kid wouldn't want to strive to achieve such a reward---the 'Third School' pencil is very alluring, with its bright red barrel and engraved, scripted text filled with shiny gold paint! :D
I wonder if my drawing of Ding would earn me such a pencil from the teacher?
Yeah, well I didn't want that red pencil, anyway! It's just a marketing gimmick to snag a few more sales. And anyway, I'm an adult with money and privilege! I can buy whatever pencil I want! D:
