CHIPPY'S ANNUAL EBAY SALE!
Because I've not yet finished the 'The End' comic, it's still legit for me to continue drawing Gene and company.

Seems Gene has smeared some paint on the wall and has hung a blank canvas over it.

GENE:  "Behold my masterpiece! I call it 'Painting Outside the Lines'!"

MUBBA (mind blown): "Whoa!"

GENE (fiddling with phone): "Now to upload it, become famous, and sell the painting for $1,000,000!"

MUBBA (concerned that the children of the world would starve): "But that's all the money there is in the whole wide world!"

GENE (having second thoughts): "Hm. I guess I'll settle for fame and a box of Hershey Bars"

MUBBA (with pride for Gene): "I could say I knew you when!"

I drew this cartoon with the featured vintage, Hershey's-branded pencil by Dixon. The Hershey's pencil is hard as a stone---much like chocolate from 1986 would be. Seriously, the lines this pencil makes are lighter than those of my Zephyr (which is a #3; the Hershey's could be a #4 or 5)! D:

I delineated the lines with the Twenty Grand pencil from several uploads ago. :3

Don't forget all the kisses from the masses :3 One does not simply wear that apron without knowing full well the ramifications of what popularity will ensure :P
IceAgeChippies
2 years, 10 months ago
Absolutely!

There is an 'almost' reference with the apron, think: 'Kiss' as in 'Hershey's Kiss'.

I could have drawn the candy in place of the word, but I dunno how well that would have translated. ^^

I did get the play on words and I'm sure most did as well. However, you did good playing it safe. You will get people that either won't understand the pic of the kiss or those that have never been exposed to the deliciousness that is a Hershey's kiss... coming in second to the deliciousness that is Gene of course :3

Wow Chippy this one is really prestine. Very clean line work. Seems you actually put effort into this one. Didnt you have some weird rule against that :p

The paper could be a painting of a snow beast in a snowy field during a blizzard.
IceAgeChippies
2 years, 10 months ago
Indeed. ...or to reference Pinwheel, one could say, 'A polar bear eating vanilla ice cream in the midle of a blizzard'.
Going from memory, there, so likely not exact. :3

The funny thing is that i can clearly picture it happening, people wanting to buy it XD
If i remember well there was things like that that have been sold for a terrifying amount isn't it ?
IceAgeChippies
2 years, 10 months ago
Yes. A digital 'painting' recently sold for over $60,000,000. It's that which inspired this.

LOL How does it look like ?
Personally, last thing i have heard of was a full black painting or something no ? O_o
IceAgeChippies
2 years, 10 months ago
It was a large piece---a mash of about 13,000 tiny images. The images didn't even form a mosaic; it was just tiny images strung together.

How things that look like nothing can get sold for so much ?! O_O

Persons with this kind of money truly live in their own worlds, always hoping to outdo the other billionaire whose yacht is just slightly bigger than theirs. In other words, it's not about the image, but about what was paid for it.
It's just that some artists get lucky enough to have their art fought over.

This reminds me of a joke about a drawing. The teacher asks a student about his blank sheet, the student says it's a drawing of a horse in a field. "Where's the horse?" "The horse has left because he has eaten all the grass." Something along those lines... don't feel like looking it up right now.

It certainly is a smart-ass kind of joke. My kind of humor. :-)
