Character Description
Jonah is an upbeat quirky intelligent uninhibited care-free spirit. He was born with a very strong need for emotional and physical connection, but due to a lack of impulse control combined with difficulties understanding others he had a hard time finding others that were willing to put up with his high demand for attention. Jonah has always been fascinated by the distinct physical features of species other than his own. However he ultimately develops an unparalleled obsession with rabbits. He is very strongly attached and loyal to his best friend Jonathan J. Jackrabbit. He is often demanding of his attention. He returns the favor by being helpful to Jonathan in various ways and encouraging him when he is feeling insecure/doubtful.

Background/History
Jonah was born in the state of New Fursey, to his young inexperienced mother and her college sweetheart. Jonah's father was unloving towards him, often becoming impatient. In one notable early event, Jonah's father tosses him in the deep end of the pool when he was still a toddler to let him sink or swim. This traumatized Jonah, giving him a fear of water. Eventually Jonah would challenge his fear of water to "prove himself" and swimming and water became part of his identity. From then on he started liking all things water themed and it's around this time he adopted the convention of wearing sailor suits.
His Aunt Sophie introduced him to cathedrals and religion, and eventually took him to a bible camp, called camp Innocence, where he would eventually meet Jonathan Jackrabbit. After a rocky start, Jonah and Jonathan became inseparable friends from then on until about the age of 13 when a terrible falling out occurred just prior to the beginning of the story.

World/Setting
In this world sentient anthropomorphic bipedal semi-animalistic creatures are known as anthromorphs. Animals like the ones in our world are known as animorphs. Anthromorphs come in variety of species but the vast majority of them are fur covered mammals, with many prey species and a few predator species. Some common species include: rabbits, racoons, skunks, mice, rats, squirrels, chipmunks, cats, foxes, and many more. Modern setting equivalent to our world circa the 1980s. Common technologies include cassette players/tapes, boom boxes, VHS's, old rotary/dial up land lines, primitive personal computers (no internet), and 8bit video game consoles. Anthromorphs wear clothing but don't wear shoes or socks and are always barefoot.

Jonah has two tufts of hair atop his head of different colors. He has a distinctive facial stripe that unlike most other chipmunks does not prominently feature black stripes. He has black tipped ears that are more angular than other chipmunks. He almost always curls his tail into a bun with the white side rolled inwards.
Clothing
Frequently dresses up in a sailor suit, even when not part of the school dress code. Typically wears colors such as red or orange.

Almost always wears a hankercheif around his neck, typically in red, orange, or pink
