originally the shy and introverted son of a church pastor, Jonathan grows up to be cool, confident, and ultimately rebellious. He ends up becoming one of the most popular boys at school due to this winning combination of sociability, snark, and natural good looks.
Personality
Friendly. Comfortable with himself and other boys, especially Jonah. Not shy about wanting male friendships. An enthusiastic fan of many things, but especially 80s rock and the new emerging electronic scene. Likes video games, struggles a bit with school. Enjoys battles of wit and prowess with Jonah, esp. Chess.

Dislikes: school, bullies, cliques, authoritarians, rude/snooty/haughty/judgy furs, being judged for being himself, and his ears being touched unless he knows the fur very well (this goes for boys and girls).
Background/History
Jonathan Joseph Jebediah Jackrabbit, was born to a loving family, a first and only child. His father, Jacobi, was a minister in the local church, and his mother Emily, was the choir director. Jonathan was part of the children's choir when very young. Jonathan's life seemed idyllic. Jonathan loved his mother very much. Then one day he caught a potentially fatal respiratory infection. Emily took care of Jonathan and made sure he lived. Jonathan managed to survive but his lungs had been permanently damaged from the ordeal. He found it difficult to run for extended periods and would easily start gasping for air. He needed to have an inhaler handy in case of emergencies. Further tragedy struck leading to Jonathan becoming despondent, refusing to make any friends and refusing to talk.
Jacobi was invited to serve as acting pastor at a summer bible camp, in Camp Innocence, starting in 1980. It's here that Jonathan met Jonah. At first Jonathan was reticent towards Jonah, but eventually Jonah was able to get past Jonathan's defenses. They became inseparable friends. They exchanged phone numbers and promised to meet in the exact same place in one year. J&J would go on to become the best of best friends, and Jonah would have a positive influence on Jonathan, encouraging to push past his limits, both physically and intellectually, eventually becoming both an excellent athlete and student. He also went from shy and awkward to friendly and social. J&J would go on to create a band of friends.
During the last year of Junior high school however things became strained between Jonah&Jonathan, culminating in one disasterous night when Jonathan decided to completely cut ties with Jonah. The break up was so sudden and harsh that it sent Jonah into a spiraling depression, eventually refusing to go to school or even leave his room. It is this event that sets our story in motion.
