This is the Sunday in August of 1960 that Al and Marge treated the cubs to watching the airplanes taking off at what was then the Albuquerque Municipal Airport.
Marge parked the station wagon just as a Lockheed Constellation on the far end of the runway began revving it's engines to takeoff. The cubs certainly don't want to miss standing outside of the car to watch the three tailed Constellation fly over.
Marge grabbed their 35mm Rolleiflex camera as Al grabbed their 8mm Revere movie camera.
In the front seat;
Al is getting out on the passenger's side.
Marge is at the wheel, and about to get out on the driver's side.
Donna (age 6) can be seen peeking from behind Al.
In the rear seat;
Jed (oldest son, age 11) is the one wearing red sneakers.
Rex (age 9) is stepping out behind Jed.
Clarence (age 8 and from year 2018) is still in the car about to exit behind Rex.
Al and Marge instructed the cubs to exit the car on the passenger's side so they don't open a door in the path of another car.
For those who are familiar with cars from that time era, their 1960 Plymouth station wagon has the "gear wheel" door latches that car makers used in the 1950s and early 1960s.
