After getting to know each other in the most unusual circumstances, Ion and Zephyr started spending a lot of time hanging out together along with another friend they met in Flint. However Flint lived in the outskirts of the city with his tribe of fennecs making it some days were only Ion and Zephyr could hang out together. Over time, the both of them started to develop unusual feelings for each other that they could not explain, making sometimes when they would get together a bit stressful. After a while Ion was able to figure out what his feelings meant but was afraid to confront Zephyr with them for fear that he would not want to be with him anymore. That kind of changed one day when the two of them were going off to visit Flint in the outskirts, Zephyr kind of got into a bit of trouble along the way and after being able to get him out of that trouble, Zephyr started acting a bit off. Ion also began to realize that this was not the first time Zephyr had started acting this way around him and with him not being able to hold it in anymore, Ion gave an embrace to Zephyr which helped him settle down a bit. After asking him what was wrong, Zephyr kind of shrugging it off, so Ion decided to test the waters a bit by giving Zephyr a small peck on the mouth, touching his lips to Zephyr's before dropping his embrace and running ahead. Ion ran a small distance before looking back to see Zephyr still just standing there a bit stunned, with his hand over where he had kissed him, with the expression on his face that seamed like he enjoyed the small gesture of affection. Feeling better about his decision, Ion called to him which snapped Zephyr out of his trance and he ran to catch back up.
The two of them went along like nothing had happened for the rest of the weekend while they were out with Flint and on their way back into town the next day Ion and Zephyr wanted to say something to each other but couldn't get the words out. Near the end of their journey, Ion asked if Zephyr wanted to stop by his place before he went home to which Zephyr just nodded at him. They arrived soon after at the estate Ion's parents owned, being the son of the overseer, the grounds were massive, full of greenery and gardens that you could loose yourself easily in if you were not too careful or didn't know the way. They made their way to a very secluded spot in the garden, one Ion would come often to when he needed to be alone as it was difficult to find. This way it could just be the two of them here alone, where they could talk out their feelings without interruptions or any outside pressure. They both sat there for a few minutes, before they both tried to say something at the same time, with Ion letting Zephyr get things off his chest first. He talked about everything he had been feeling and his fear that Ion would not understand or want to be around him anymore knowing them, the same feelings Ion was struggling with as well. As Zephyr started to trail off, Ion just leaned up against him and caught him in another embrace as Zephyr turned his head to look into Ion's eyes. All Ion said was "I will be yours if you be mine" to which Zephyr just smiled before the tow of them enjoyed their first real kiss together. As it was getting late and they both had school the next morning, Ion walked his new partner back home, excited for the times they would spend together in the future. After getting Zephyr home safely, Ion cheerfully walked back to the estate, happy skipping along as the start of a long lasting relationship began.
