~ Ion felt reinvigorated after his talk with his father on the hill but when he got home the feelings of sorrow started coming right back to him. The little fox plush that once belonged to his friend, the friend that handed it to him just minutes before he passed away from illness was sitting on his bed, reminding Ion who wasn't there anymore. Ion grabbed it and held it close, it was the only thing left that he had from their friendship. Try as he might, Ion tried to remember the good times him and Flint had together but the thoughts of the times that will now never be kept flowing through his mind. Bringing himself to tears again, Ion felt that warm presence wrapping around him again, swearing he could hear a soothing voice telling him that it would be ok, a voice he though he would never hear again. Growing tired, Ion felt that it would be best to gt some sleep, so he turned in for the night, eyes still teary from the pain of loss.
After closing his eyes and drifting off to sleep, Ion found himself in this white, empty void, looking around he could see nothing for miles until a figure just suddenly showed up in front of him. Ion wiped his eyes, figuring he was seeing things, as Flint was standing there in front of him clear as day. Ion ran over to him and hugged him in an embrace while Flint embraced him back. Ion started tearing up again as Flint kept telling Ion that it was ok before they parted their embrace. Ion and Flint had a moment to chat together, with Ion telling him that he promised to fulfill Flint's dream of becoming a Contract Hunter to which Flint just told him to follow what his heart desires. The empty whiteness started to dissolve as Flint told Ion that time was up and he had to go, Ion tried to protest but Flint shuck his head, telling Ion he needed to wake up and continue moving forward.
Ion eyes jolted open as it was the next morning, light shining in from the window beside his bed. Ion ran his hand through his hair cursing that it was only a dream before grabbing Flint's plush and holding it close again. All Ion could mutter was I miss you before tears started running down his face again before that same warm presence wrapped around him again with the sound of laughter. Ion stated out the window and up at the sky, wondering if Flint was watching over him or his mind was just trying to tell him that it will be ok. Carefully putting back down the plush on his bed, Ion looked into the plush's face and mentioned out loud that he would not disappoint him, he would not let Flint down on chasing his dream. ~
