Seems Gene is hoping to use his skills to earn some money. Let's see if he's successful...

MIMI (paying admission): "This better be good, Gene"
GENE: I'm a pro, Mimi. Observe"
*Gene plays his magical tune; a 'snake' emerges from the basket*
MIMI: "That's no snake! It's just Tasli under there!"
TASLI (to Gene): "I told you this wouldn't work!"
GENE (to Mimi): *sigh* "Here's your money back"
MIMI: "Nah! Keep it. It was worth it to see you in a diaper!"
...or, rather, to add insult to Gene's embarrassment (it was a small price for something so fun)!
Anyway, I drew this with an early edition of the 'Epcon Pencil', for much like Gene and his snake charming, the Epcon pencil isn't what it seems.
I've written a little about the Epcon before, so I'll keep this brief. Concisely, the Epcon was the result of Hasbro Toy Company's attempts to develop a 'plastic' pencil.
Plastic, after all, is available in unlimited quantity to toy manufacturers, whereas cedar wood was not so abundant ...and also costlier.
Of course, the question is begged as to why Hasbro would want to make pencils to begin with, but that's another story. ^^
Hasbro collaborated with Empire Pencil Company on the project, and after several years of development, created the pencil which I drew this C-grade cartoon with (mine is fairly valuable as it's an early sample)! XD
Is the Epcon any good?
The drag is ok, but feels like there's some 'waxiness' in the lead; the line is a bit light, but darkens with pressure. The line isn't dusty at all, and erases fairly well.
This pencil isn't good for much, but it has value as a historical and collector novelty.
