So, I told Miss Ice Cream I'd draw a 'Ferret-style' character, as well explain what 'Ferret style' is.
...and I fully intend to get to that (sometime before I die), but for now we have a different type of artistic abomination: a '*Frankenbunny'.

All right, so my watchers who do Neopets (should) know exactly who Topsi is ...we/they may not know quite 'what' Topsi *is, but we certainly know Topsi when we see him (any many wish they hadn't seen him)!
*some say he's a cybunny, albeit the cybunnies I know don't claim him. ^^
...Ok, so I'm exaggerating (a little) ^^;
Fact is, Topsi's is generally disliked by Neopians. Personally ...I see Topsi as mildly unattractive, esp. considering the species he's based on, though I cannot say I despise Topsi or anything.
Anyway, I decided to redesign Topsi. At first, I was going to draw Topsi 'Ferret style', but after reading this link from the above link,
"I believe Topsi is actually... a Frankenbunny"
...I decided to make my own 'Frankenbunny' ...without going all the way so as to make the character a zombie, of course (I just liked the word, 'Frankenbunny' ...seems such a character could exist in the same world as Bunnicula ...but I digress). ^^
Anyway... I drew a baby cybunny head, and reshaped the body using a Bellflower bunny as inspiration. I removed Topsi's shirt and shoes, and gave him ears resembling those of Miss Ice Cream (because I can).
I 'tried' to correctly place the shoulders, albeit, that's not easily done with certain Neopets because of their 'neckbeards'. :P
I know about the 'draw-through' technique, but it kinda fails me here. If I'm to keep true to the Neopets style, the neckbeard and the head have to sit 'on top' of the shoulders---the arms cannot (for example) poke through the neckbeard as if it had armholes. I'm sure there's something I'm missing or overlooking something obvious, but I honestly can't make the neckbread look good by drawing-through (the end result tends to wrap the beard around a stick-like neck, like a scarf). :P
...But, thankfully, none of my watchers expect 'good' art from me, so there's nothing to complain about here! XD
Either way, I like how this Bellflower-cybunny turned out. At the extreme end of 'least', this 'Cute Topsi' looks better than the original, at least IMHO (and that's what matters). :3

:love: Aw! ...Well, for my original stuff (like with Gene, Fix, Timmy, etc), I draw (pun!) from everyday life---things I hear/read from friends, or things I see on my wayfarer's journey, etc. That kind of thing. As for the ACO stuff, I tend to choose subjects I think my watchers would like. Some ideas come directly from watchers (in the form of suggestions), and others from incidental mentions. Some things I find on my own (such as 'Joel Mole'---I'll be drawing him soon), or just recall from childhood. :3
Last, I wish a happy Easter to everyone (a bit early, but none are promised tomorrow---best wish each other well and give one another love when and where we can)! :3
