Still playing with these ancient, wooden pencils. The medium this time is a USCO 'Electro' #3 pencil. It makes light, thin lines with a semi-abrasive drag. The lines are very hard to erase (annoying, as I made several mistakes here), but they do not smudge easily. :3
Anyway...
Some may get the impression I will draw any random character from whatever series for the sake of the subject's obscurity ...and that'd be correct. ^^;
Even so, there are some series I just won't voluntarily include in my gallery, and/or that I don't feel I can draw well or would make a good subject for ACO.
'Road Rovers' was among those series I didn't feel would be good for ACO, on the basis of the characters being VERY 'anthro'---their proportions don't fit well in ACO format. That said, I know some watchers would link me to ACOs of various, realistic humans and superheroes, just to say 'It can be done, Chippy!'.
Mhm. Same as I know there are persons who can write scripture on rice grains, but that doesn't mean 'I' can do it well, or even at all. :3
TL;DR: The Rovers are 'too tall' for me to draw in full-body in ACO format. They'd end up looking very stretched (like bookmarks) and create a lot of empty space on the card. ^^
So, why'd I draw 'Road Rovers', then?
A long-time watcher asked me to, and I---
HYPOTHETICALWATCHER: "You said you don't do requests! I demand you draw Pikachu in a diaper, and Sonic swinging on a jungle vine ...RIGHT NOW!" D:
...No. :3
WATCHER: "...I would like to see a fan art based on (Road Rovers)"
ME: "Well, I hope you find a Road Rovers fan who'll make art!"
Of course I added 'Road Rovers' to my draw list ...because contrarian ^^
WATCHER: "I like Hunter the most"
:P
'Road Rovers' was a series I knew 'of' but didn't watch, as child. The entire animated action/superhero genre was mostly ignored by me---I really only watched two animated series in those categories: 'Batman: TAS' and 'X-Men' (I also watched the original 'MMPR', because who didn't?). :3
ME: "It looks horrible, but ...it's the kind of thing my gallery references: obscure cartoons"
WATCHER: "horrible??? <_< *gets offended*"
*giggles*
Though I don't do requests, I am (and have always been) open to suggestions. Despite what a gallery like mine may suggest, I do NOT have an encyclopedic knowledge of cartoons and characters. Often, my watchers introduce me to cute and fun things I'd either forgotten about or had never seen before ...for those reasons, why would I want to close my ears to suggestion?
The main difference between a request and a suggestion is, to me, a request is effectively a free commission---I 'have' to do them once accepted, and it's gotta be correct (no fun allowed!). Whereas, I'm not beholden to suggestions---I can either do or not do them, and if I do take one, I'm free to do as I please with it ...a fact I took advantage of here. ^^
I did so by including 'SWAT Kats': another series I knew of, but didn't watch. :3
Representing 'SWAT Kats' is Ann Gora (like 'angora' ..get it?): reporter for Kat's Eye News.
...and it seems tonight's news may be quite interesting.
Bad dog, Hunter! Sit! Heel! Desist! D:
...That's better. :3
Anyway, if the Road Rovers and SWAT Kats ever do an official crossover, I might take a peek. In the meantime, I've yet more 'Blinky Bill' to amuse myself with and criticize, respectively (I do not like Season 3, no I do not). :3
