Across the infinity of the multiverse, there's a countless number of vastly different desires. And... just as a new fetish is formed, its nature manifests into a gemstone somewhere deep within the infinity of the multiverse. These gems are called Desire Gems. They wield power over the aspirations that formed them, controlling the flow of thoughts people have regarding their specific kink. The gems are not mere stones of power, however, they're sentient. As soon as any shard comes in contact with a creature it deems suitable for the role of a Keeper, it creates a special bond between the shattered gemstone and the newfound Keeper. The Keeper is granted abilities beyond their wildest dreams, as the very personal kink they might've kept sheltered becomes their incredible power. The Keeper ceases aging any forward from the moment they bind with the gem and is awarded the ability to create rifts that allow them to travel through endless realities. Once their soul is tied to the stone, their minds tap into it, allowing them to see countless manifestations of their fetish throughout the multiverse. The Keeper, then, is meant to travel the worlds, claiming the scattered shards and reforming their Desire Gem back to its primary state. With every added shard, the Keeper becomes more powerful, unlocking the true potential upon full completion of the stone.
Every single Keeper is meant to spread their fetish around, helping people get over the shame they might be feeling over their forbidden interests... however the power quickly blinds minds, swaying the Keeper's aspirations into a much more selfish direction as they start living the life for their own satisfaction, striving to become more and more powerful.
The Desire Gems... are most certainly not entirely innocent as well. They're still shrouded in the fog of mystery, thick enough that only a few even know of their existance... yet some aspects are clear as day. While the stones stop you from ever aging and practically grants you eternal life, all of this comes at a cost. Depending on the nature of your soul, sooner or later, you will succumb to the "corruption" that the gemstone fills you with. Your physical appearance will alter. Alter to the extent where you wouldn't be able to recognize yourself... ...if you still had memories of the life you had before aquiring the gemstone. which the crystal erases soon enough.
And, across the countless realms, there exist seven prominent Desire Keepers. They exist in a group, a group simply called "The Ancient Desires".
