String theory is graceful, but ultimately unprovable without at minimum a hundred fold increase in particle accelerator power. Such machines need to be built far off in the asteroid or kuiper belts because of non-trivial risks of micro-black-hole creation XD
Besides, if we're going to talk about unprovable theories, I think simulation theory holds a bit more weight :P
