I was believing was 6 days and half of work but now I is think 7 days...divided like this..
average we work 9 hours per day (5 days per week)

- Zbrush modeling and pose (2 days)
- Preparing the model for 3d print (spliting the model , removing inner structures.(half day)
- 3d printing (there's a cost here material + printer cost divided in an estimated number of
prints before printer dies, my estimations 2000 prints)  - printing time 20 hours (its a big figure)
- Preparing the print for painting, lot of sandpaper, dremel drill, some pastry/mass for fix defects
of the printer, and areas where the parts join (a whole day)
- Painting with traditional tools (brushes, acrilict paint) 2 days and half..

people believe modeling is easier than drawing, and a 3d printer does not gives you a figure finished..  heh. ..actually 7 days of work is a lot of investment talking about money, compare with a comic page for example, is 10 hours of work,  so you can say I can produce a comic page everyday ..the cost $75 (a cheap price for a non amateur artist) if a model takes 7 days (let's say 6 because one day the printer works alone, tho you must count the costs too) ..6 * 75 = $450  ..A plan to sell a figure like this at least for $300 ..I know it sounds high price, its even lot more convenient for me stick to the comics instead doing figures (it pays 50 percent extra).. but it's also a lot more interestin for me open a new market, since there's not much artist who do these kind of stuff.

Gran trabajo con la figura... pero me queda la duda. ¿Qué es la sal de Andrews?

Do you find the larger figures are easier to work with than smaller ones?

Also great detail on this.

with small ones you save some costs, also is faster to print, but the details like the eyes are harder to paint..  I like bigger ones because looks more impressive

having gotten a few 3dprinted items, I can easily see the amount of work that goes into this.

ABS

Lol. No no, technology. Stereolithography or fused deposition modeling. But abs means fdm.  Acetone smoothing then?

It's FDM.. I have an SLA that we sometimes use, but 1000s of miles apart tends to hamper that LOL!

Ahh. yeah.  * blush * heh. .didn't understood the question..

Yes.. tried with acetone (which is really hard to find on Peru, because terrorist used it for bombs on the 80s and Narcs yet use it for produce cocaine, and peru is .. well.. coca producer.. lol)      but story aside, yes, I managed to find some acetone (thanks god you don't need much) ..interesting result, but discovered that using sandpaper is a little better, so you can keep control of the details that you don't want to be removed..

Your mthod helps too. At work we use a cold vapor method that's slower but because of that you can control the detail loss. As another negative, however, you are relying on the evaporation of the acetone without heat so you need more.

the sandpaper and drill do an awesome work.. BUT takes a lot of time, and as you can read on the description, time is a problem  7 days working is too much and not profitable. i know with practice we will do it faster, but i'm thinkin save some time by using a combination of both techniques, acetone (for not much time)  AND sandpaper  ..yes.. when I used acetone i found better to use the cold method,  slow but safe :P

You could also try adqtive methods too. At work we use a great product called XTC, but its basically just a aelfsmoothing clearcoat. I've wanted to try clear nail polish for awhile... Even have a bottle, just havnt put it to use. You could acetone a model then use something like the nail polish to fill in the rest.

Also if acetone is hard to get you can experiment with pla and ethyl acetate. Its also sold as MEK Substitute. Supposedly it works on pla like acetone on abs. So does, apperently, MEK, but that stuff is toxic as hell.

actually what I use is a product for nails too, not real acetone because, like I said, is something really hard to find on Peru :-/

though the figures do intrigue a bunny, would not mind having a cute figure of kasa standing on her soccerball one day

Looks great, but his hands look a bit small in proportion to the rest of his body.

it's the design of the character. also his head is small for my state (furries in general have big heads.. I took the photos from above to correct this at least in the photos, his feets are also small... tho i didn't stick to the original design that much)

Whether it's the design or the character or not, they're still small in comparison and look out of proportion.

well. sonic characters has designs with huge heads and nobody complains about it,  it's just matter of tastes, and my sister designed him like that.
