I was believing was 6 days and half of work but now I is think 7 days...divided like this..
average we work 9 hours per day (5 days per week)
- Zbrush modeling and pose (2 days)
- Preparing the model for 3d print (spliting the model , removing inner structures.(half day)
- 3d printing (there's a cost here material + printer cost divided in an estimated number of
prints before printer dies, my estimations 2000 prints) - printing time 20 hours (its a big figure)
- Preparing the print for painting, lot of sandpaper, dremel drill, some pastry/mass for fix defects
of the printer, and areas where the parts join (a whole day)
- Painting with traditional tools (brushes, acrilict paint) 2 days and half..
people believe modeling is easier than drawing, and a 3d printer does not gives you a figure finished.. heh. ..actually 7 days of work is a lot of investment talking about money, compare with a comic page for example, is 10 hours of work, so you can say I can produce a comic page everyday ..the cost $75 (a cheap price for a non amateur artist) if a model takes 7 days (let's say 6 because one day the printer works alone, tho you must count the costs too) ..6 * 75 = $450 ..A plan to sell a figure like this at least for $300 ..I know it sounds high price, its even lot more convenient for me stick to the comics instead doing figures (it pays 50 percent extra).. but it's also a lot more interestin for me open a new market, since there's not much artist who do these kind of stuff.
